Looks like this ship has been confirmed for the mid-size vehicle line this Fall...

We can confirm that both the new Snowspeeder and a new Cloud Car will be in the line. Stay tuned for official looks at this at Toy Fair.

Hopefully that doesn't change - it'll be nice to get it at the $22-25 price and not as some over-priced $60 TRU exclusive or something.  ::)

I think it's gonna happen for the mid-size because of repainting on that speeder.  That thing has a few paintjobs available from the film, and I think folks will cave on those.    Repaintability is a positive thing for Hasbro for sure, so I think that bodes well for them.

Wasn't there a blue concept Cloud Car?  Maybe I'm misremembering that...  I'd buy that along with a movie-deco.

So happy this is officially confirmed for next year, and not another "push back" that we've seen with other nice OT rumors/in progress stuff.  I'm definitely down for at least a couple, really looking forward to it.  I guess I'm not surprised to hear it, but it stinks that pretty much everything is going to be held off until Fall of next year.  It is going to be a slow first half of the year again, especially if I cut back on CW stuff like I hope/intend to.

Yes, there was.  It was in a McQuarrie production painting for ESB.  The painting is really rather cool, showing the blue cloud car in the forground, viewed from slightly behind, with a Thranta flying creature approaching it.  The scene is set over the Cloud City highrises with a storm cloud backdrop.  It is in the "Illustrated Star Wars Universe" book.  The blue cloud car has some design differences over the final version, but looks close enough.  Blue would be a cool color for that vehicle 8)

More new Snowspeeder images...

Clicky to check it out!

The images include some with the armor off of the right section showing the exposed electronics underneath.  Pretty slick looking.  The details on these are also looking quite nice...

No word on exactly what the stringy accessory is seen in some of the pictures, or how it may or may not interact with the vehicle.  :-X

By the way, I like the slick little extra they seem to have added to hide the towcable's cord in the bottom rear of the vehicle.  At least that's my assumption, and it's pretty neat if that's its purpose.

Looks like the blasters have 2 options, much like the recent AT-ST: a film accurate version, and a firing version.  I like the angle of the new pics too.  Still, I'm a little worried about the measurement tape showing about the same ship length though.

I still miss the light up guns the vintage one had. So this one is still the same size as before.

The question is, will it be a great addition, or the start of a new fleet? I'll be a little bummed if it's significantly smaller than the original, but not hart broken.

"significantly smaller" is a pretty relative term.  I think it'll be less wide, more than it will be less long...  if that makes any sense.

Yeah, you're right. Significantly smaller. I forgot the community I'm a part of here. One man's "slight" is another's "completely ruined."
