So Tech is one game away from Bowl Eligibility.  I'm hoping not the Fort Worth/Armed Forces Bowl, I would feel slightly compelled to go.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say Fire Gerald Myers and Kent Hance.  In a rare year when both UT and OU were weak, a Mike Leach Texas Tech could have had a chance at a Big 12 South Title...Now it won't even be Baylor, it will be OSU.

And that win over OU probably saved Mike Sherman's job.

I feel dirty for saying it but "Gig Em"!  Wow, it's nice that the teams that care were able to hand Nebraska and farewell loss.

And in the interest of remaining consistent....Fire Tuberville now!   Tech is barely bowl eligible after a win over a Division II (I can't remember the new PC name for that division) cupcake.  I predict a loss next week and then a loss in our PRE-Christmas Day bowl.   The only reason Tech got good bowl games in the Leach era was because of the "Show" and the fact that they could come back in the last 10 mins of the game and win (ask the Minnesota Coach who got fired)....

Now they play such a vanilla Run Run Pass Punt offense it is laughable.

So OU and Nebraska as a final sendoff to the Big 12... sounds good to me, especially since there was no chance A&M was getting there. Big day next Saturday and then next Sunday we should find out the bowl situations. I'm probably going to set up one of those Yahoo Bowl Pickems if anyone else is interested.

First coaches are being fired as well... Randy Shannon at Miami and Bill Lynch at Indiana. Apparently RichRod's buyout drops from $4 million to $2.5 million on January 1...

I'm in.

My confidence level on each is the same.  I guessed on all of them.

Yeah.  It's Muschamp.

Texas fans, tell me more about Muschamp.

Edit:  Sounds like Major Applewhite is going with him to be the Gators new OC:

Not a Texas fan (rival schools, yeah!) but he knows his defense... someone compared it to the Ron Zook hire in terms of "square peg in round hole coaching hires." Apparently he's replacing the spread with pro style offense too.
