Of Cody, Anakin, Fett, and Obi-wan are any straight repacks?

Cody - they fixed his belt (turned it right-side up)
Obi-Wan - they added his pilot head gear
Anakin - new head with Sith eye deco and new arms (insert molded shoulders and elbows and pivot wrists).
Fett - has a revised "even more accurate" paint deco

Thanks Jeff, I'm thinking I'll pick up Cody and Anakin... maybe Fett.  I'll need to check the pictures, but unless the headgear is molded to Obiwan, the accessory isn't enough for me to pick that up.

Now that I've seen this helpful list... should Fett be labeled as repaint?

Yeah, the head gear look to be the same as the one that came with the various ROTS #55 "Pilot" Obi-Wans that have been released.

JTA has an interesting report about the Anakin figure - that regular versions (as shown in the loose figure display) will have a normal "Anakin" headsculpt, but the UGH version (as shown in the CARDED sample) will feature Sith eyes and alternate headsculpt. This really angers me. I had noticed at first that the head sculpts seemed a little different, but I just assumed it to be a trick of the light. In fact, the regular versions has a sort of smile, while the UGH version has a frown.

UGH in general is annoying.  A unique headsculpt for UGH's extra annoying so I'm with you on that.  Not cool.

Was this UGH-variant confirmed by Hasbro?  Or is it like Toy Fair where rumors started about Cloud Car Pilot variants because the carded had a moustache and the loose one didn't... which turned out to be just an error.  Or Boba Fett at Toy Fair - loose one on display was RotJ Fett, but the carded was ESB Fett, which is what we ultimately got.

Couldn't it just be the difference between the hand-painted loose sample and the final production carded piece?  I'd like to at least hear that it was confirmed by Hasbro directly before getting all upset about a chase variant.  ;)

Was this UGH-variant confirmed by Hasbro?

Check the photos.  You can see VERY clear differences between the two Anakins.

It's interesting that there really was no comment from Hasbro on this topic in the presentation though.

Is one a production piece (carded) and loose a pre-production paint sample though? That might explain the difference.

Normally I'd be on board with that train of thought.  Especially in light of all the glossy paintjobs on the ROTJ figures.  But with these it looks like the face sculpt may even be different, with the Dark Side version almost scowling in comparison with the lightside version.

I've got a message into someone at SDCC in an attempt to verify this directly from Hasbro.

Check the photos.  You can see VERY clear differences between the two Anakins.

And like I said - sometimes that happens at shows (like Fett and CC Pilot at Toy Fair - both of those had differences between the loose and carded figure on display).  Just because there are differences does not automatically mean there is a variant.

Look at Palpatine.  Loose figure = brown hood.  Carded figure = gray hood.  VARIANT?  Or just the difference betwen hand-painted prototype and final production sample?

If Hasbro confirms it, great.  If not, great.  My only point is there is no point in folks panicking about a variant that may not be real... I look forward to hearing if they can get that variant theory confirmed or denied.  ;)

I'm hopeful that they just do a Sith head on the figures and call it a day.  I'll swap a regular one then to the new articulated sculpt, but I hate the thought of an UGH Sith variant.

The differences between hand-painted prototype though could be all the explanation.  I'm surprised nothing has been asked on this yet.  The impression I was getting was that Hasbro HAD said this, so that was the only reason I was dreading it.  I didn't realize it may just be a prototype issue too.

I'll be very happy if the non-sithy head is not going to show up.

According to Darryl, it's the Sith head only - no paint variants for the UGHs.

That seems to settle that then, thank you Jayson for clearing up whatever the cluster of confusion was then.

I'm very pleased it's a Sith-head-only deal then...  It'll be easy to just swap on an Evo head and have both.

Whoo, cool! I don't very much like the head sculpt on the loose display figure, if it was a different sculpt. I very much like the Sith eyes better.
