My Target finally got a case of Vintage in today - it had one of these "variant" Stormtroopers

I got more than a couple reports on Target getting Wave 5 and 6 figures in, mostly wave 6.  Glad the Stormtrooper changed...  It's a cool figure, so this will entice me to maybe nab a couple of him beyond the two I have.  I like that he can actually kneel realistically with his helmet off.  Looks pretty neat with other Troopers taking a break.

With the variant, this figure is now my most-wanted from this wave. I initially didn't mind missing out on any figures from this wave, but I'm going to try tracking that Stormtrooper down.

Technically I think this is the repack from the Wave 6 cases, as everything I heard is that it's Wave 6 (not 5) showing up at Target.  JTA has a story on their front page with pics of the variation Stormie and also a variation of the Wave 6 Luke's saber now being more blue (I guess...  They always look the same to me more or less).  I didn't hear about that one, but that's neat I guess too.  Nice to see some things altered for the better.

JTA's story also said the stormtrooper's grey dots are painted on the belly, which while not a big deal IMO, it's an improvement.

I found the Stormy variant today along with the short neck Weequay and dark saber Dagobah Luke.

My Target got in the ugly, "regular" Stormie. And no Wave 6. ::)

Same with mine... All wave 5, no 6.  2 or 3 cases worth.

We would wind up with a wave of figures that are largely **** to begin with, and will pegwarm now because WM has had these a while.

Hasbro should just ship that updated Stormie until the line dies.

I'd like to see the holster improved a little to hold blasters better, but I agree it's pretty great...  That said, my heart still goes with the Sandtrooper that has the gear/removable butt bomb I think, clean of course, as a great basic Stormtrooper...  Maybe I'm 50/50 on the love for both as the best generic Stormie...  You get more "field gear" with the Sandtrooper, and you get more poseability (and the bitchin' rifle) with the new Stormie...

Combined they'd kind of make the perfect Stormtrooper army builder, only more perfect if Hasbro packed multiple Imperial-used guns like the new sandtrooper gun, the "BFG" Sandtrooper gun, the rifle...  I got tons of that old Sandie with the butt bomb though.  Loved that figure and the ability to deal out some rank pauldrons too.

You're lucky to get that many... looked like my store got 1 case in. Of course the Clone Wars repacks from 2008 were out in full force. ::)

Mmmmm, I dunno about "lucky".  Wave 5's hit steadily (with Wave 4, and a smattering of 6) at Wal-Mart...  A case here, a case there.  Luke was the only figure I hadn't seen routinely (well, Yoda too, I'd forgotten him), but now I'm seeing the entire wave at WM...

Just for Target to get in 3 cases.

That kinda sucks the big one.   :-\

I picked up the death star escape Luke the other day, and I have to say, I like it a lot more than I thought I would. The paint jobs on the eyes varied a lot, but fortunately I had eight to choose from.

In all the TF madness earlier this week, all the area WMs actually restocked the vintage figures with wave 6, and it appears that (at least in some cases) another welcomed variation/running change/correction of a wave 5 figure is shipping alongside them.  This being the 212th Clone Trooper who, at least on the one I grabbed, has a WHITE HELMET.  Of course, the orange legion markings are present, and the helmet is still way too damned big for the body, but the plastic is white instead of the yellow or green of the initial shipments.

I don't have a camera or I'd snap a picture of it, but it's pretty noticeable in the package, especially when the rest of the clones on the pegs are compared to it side by side.
