Didn't Kmart have some GI JOE exclusives last year?  Some sort of 4 or 5 pack?  I don't recall that being overpriced, but I could be wrong.

It was 4 ROC figures for $26.95ish.  They also had that SW Clone set for the same price I believe.

This is really interesting.

Clearly the figure has been done in the realistic style.

The packaging though is the Clone Wars style packaging.

Very, very odd.

I wonder how they will be getting this figure...

There are three possible scenarios:

1) Solid cases of nothing but this figure
2) Mixed in with their Clone Wars cases
3) Mixed in with their Legends cases

Hopefully, it won't be options 2 or 3. If a store gets an entire case worth (12?) then at least there will be an easy shot at finding these.

I really do find it curious that Hasbro didn't give this to them on a Vintage replica card.

Well, that kind of pisses me off.  The only reason I bought the first POS figure was because I figured Hasbro would never bother to re-release him and with their new stance on no EU, I figured it was a safe bet.

******' Hasbro.  Now there's a semi-decent figure but I'm stuck with, and paid money for, that other lump.

I don't think it'll be 2 or 3, since this is an exclusive and I'm fairly sure they'll never mixed in exclusives with alongside general release figures in the same case.

There is speculation out there and we've touch on it here that this figure could be one of a few exclusives in a "Bounty Hunter Collection" subline. This theory is supported by a few facts:

- Unique bubble without game piece/card
- It's obviously not a animated figure and not a repack this rules out being a Clone Wars or Saga Legends
- There is no number on the insert (CWXX or SLXX)
- "Bounty Hunter" callout above Jodo's name on the insert
- The leaked Hasbro marketing plan at JTA showed a "Bounty Hunter Collection" promo that runs over several months after the relaunch

Interesting theory.
Maybe that Bounty Hunter hunt is for Bounty Hunter figures:

-Boba Fett in vintage colors (Modern Sculpt) (TRU)
-White IG-88 (Wal-Mart)
-Jaster Mereel (Target)

The above is theoretical to Jayson's previous post. But it would be really cool if they had repaint/some new tooling on the chase figures if they indeed are chase figures.

Cool, I don't think there are any K-Marts left in the state of Texas. If the price is right I'll have to get someone to snag one for me.

I hope you're right Jayson - to my recollection they have only done this once - when WalMart got in the "Separation of the Twins" exclusives (the ones that were individually carded that came out right after the ROTS line ended, on The Saga Collection cardbacks) they came in trays that were a mix of the exclusive figures and the first wave of The Saga Collection.

If there is indeed a "Bounty Hunter Collection" - I sincerely hope that it's spread-out among a bunch of different stores and not just K-Mart.

I just hope they associate it to one of the traditional 3 lines: TCW, TLC or Legends.

I don't like the idea of nebulous figures floating around out there that don't belong to one of the established lines. Something about that just rankles the completist in me.

We have 3 K-Marts here locally, so on the off-chance this falls under the TCW line, I'll be all set.

He first showed up in a RPG.

I doubt he'll be in the CW line as he's not an animated sculpt.

Not really.

This figure isn't part of the Vintage Collection.  Only basic figures that are in the black and silver packaging are part of the Vintage Collection.  That means the carded figures on the Kenner style cards and the select vehicles that will be available in the black and silver packaging are part of the Vintage Collection.

Everything else falls under the SHADOW OF THE DARK SIDE umbrella.  Clone Wars, Legacy, everything.  Any movie style battle packs will be in the SHADOW OF THE DARK SIDE packaging.  The same goes for all vehicles except for those that are being offered exclusively in the black and silver packaging.

Plus he has zilch to do with the CW that I'm aware of, even in the EU stuff he is in...  I can't see it either.

I'm still in awe KM got something worth looking for.  The Jedi Temple Assault pack was the only thing I can think they ever had exclusively that was worth tracking down and that everyone was clamoring for.

Either way, I'll repeat what others have said - Kudos to K-Mart for finally finding a reason for me to shop there in 2010.

Yeah, once, for $9.00, and then never again.
