Wow, that Ares is slick.  Nice choice using Gladiator.  What do you use for paints?  Your customs look like they're fresh off the real production line.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

The paints are mostly Model Masters, on that particular Ares figure anyhow.  On Purple Man I used Humbrol and Tamiya.  Oh wait, I didn't post my Zebediah Killgrave here!  Hang on let me go get those pics.

This is The Purple Man I did right before Ares with Tamiya and Humbrol.

He's had some big clashes with Luke Cage in New Avengers and the Thunderbolts, some others I'm forgetting.  Basically he emits pheromones and can control the actions of others with that power.

Awesome stuff there, Dressel. What fig did you use for the Purple Man, the suit looks familiar but I can't place it to a figure.

And FWIW I saw the white FF variant of the F4 set at Wal-Mart yesterday. Haven't heard of anyone seeing it in stores yet.

Thanks!  I'm not familiar with DC, but I was in TJ Maxx and got "Captain Atom" for $3 for the head.  Looked like Purple Man to me!  And the body is the G.I. JOE Renegades Cobra Commander.

I saw it in Walmart 4 times.  Sent 2 off to other collectors, left the rest at retail.  They've been showing up in my area for just the last 2 weeks roughly.

I have no idea who that guy is either, but the figure looks great. Excellent use of that CC body.

Thanks for the positive feedback gentlemen.

Finished up a couple customs tonight:

Luke Cage - Thunderbolts Director:

The tech that Fixer gave him was sculpted on then the figure was painted.

Age of Apocalypse Sunfire:

Facemask sculpt is mine, on a FO Torch, then painted.

In progress: Thunderbolts Swordsman and Moonstone.  On deck, Songbird.

Thank you for the positive feedback gentlemen!

First up today is Thunderbolts' Swordsman, Andreas Von Strucker.  He is one of my favorite customs, next to Ghost.  I did a lot of parts combination and a lot of sculpting.  The head is Renegades Cobra Commander completey sculpted over, the arms and torso are MU Goblin heavily sculpted, and the legs are House of M Spiderman, also heavily sculpted.

Here he is with the first Thunderbolts team that was directed by Norman Osborn, charged with bringing in unregistered superhero combatants.  I still need to make Songbird, she's next.

Here is Moonstone on the same team:

If you haven't read Thunderbolts 110-121, you absolutely have to.  It is some of the best Marvel stuff of the last decade easy.

very nice customs Dressel!  I just read a Thunderbolts comic the other day from the Marvel free lunch time reading thing - it was pretty good.

That Cage looks like a dead on depiction of what I saw in the comic.

Here is my MU Sandman.  I do want to make a giant sandy fist or something yet, but here he is in a relaxed state not exhibiting his powers.

Here he is with some of his spidey-hating friends:
