Apropos of nothing, if the Kiss classic "God of Thunder" is not on the soundtrack to this film, there should be an official investigation by the Justice Department.

How can you have a movie about Thor and not roll that out during the closing credits? I don't see a way.

 ;D

Even "Adventures in Baby Sitting" had that song.  ;)

I think a few of us in the MN group are holding out until our next meeting.  I did notice it got an A in the EW review, which has got to be a first for a comic book movie.  Gives me high hopes for it!

I just got back.

Thought it was pretty good.  Fun overall and big on action and all that stuff.

I was terribly disappointed in the lack of beefcake.  Criminal.  And really?  Destroy everythingREALLY?  Otherwise, the movie was enjoyable and just fine.

Caught it this afternoon, and I actually thought it was really good.  Better than I expected actually.  I've heard some putting it almost on par with the first Iron Man, and I could see that.  It is a different type of movie (from Iron Man), sure, but I thought it was really well done.

That was sort of what I was thinking when I left the theater... these comic book movies can be really good like Iron man or inexplicably bad like Fantastic Four or the first Hulk.  It's all about the tone and direction I think.  Thor was on the better side of that scale.

Saw it last night.  It was good. I have no idea what the thing after the credits is (even after reading the above posts) but I love that Marvel does that.  I also really enjoy the Stan Lee cameos.

I don't know. I liked the Fantastic Four movies. Granted, the first Hulk movie really did stink.

Actually... I didn't see Fantastic Four, although it looked hokey to me.  How about I replace that example with Ghost Rider?

SPOILER ALERT

Apparently that thing at the end is supposed to be the Cosmic Cube.  In the Marvel Universe, this is a devise that can essentially alter reality (think a modern version of a genie in a lamp).  Loki inadvertantly first brought the Avengers together in the comics, so sounds like they're keeping that aspect, but incorporating the CC as well.  I don't know where it came from, but the cube was tied to a creature called the Super Adaptoid at one point - a creature that could mimic the abilities of anything it saw.  He was one of my favorite baddies as a kid, so I hope this is a sign that they're bringing him into the movie.

More spoilers....

One of the early Cap photos had Red Skull holding a Cosmic Cube, so I expect it to tie together with this and The Avengers.
