I've been adding to my meager collection of Playmates figures steadily for the last month or two.

I found a guy selling his collection off for $5 a figure. All MOC. It's mostly TNG and DS9.
He doesn't have any ships or Classic era stuff (damn) but I'm happy enough to find what I have.

I opened a Geordi and Picard, and discovered a slimy substance on them. I washed it off them, but it looks like ten-year-old toys are starting to suffer now.

And, finally, does anyone know of a site like JD, RS, or GH for the Playmates stuff? I've searched Google and been to Playtrek, and it isn't going anywhere.

Better keep those two away from the others... never know what could happen. :o

The Animated series was before my time, but since it'll likely be on DVD this year or next, why not? More and different is better.

How about a 3-3/4" Trek Line in general....I think I would pick up a set of Original and TNG Crew Members (even Wes)...I've said it before somewhere but Trek was a big part of my young life until it got stupid (not sure when that was exactly...1994 seems to stick out).  Luckily for me, SW reemerged at the right time and I haven't really ever looked back

Its sad to see 3-3/4" being ignored for McFarlanesque stuff in the last few years...there are a ton of franshises that would be great in this scale.  Since vehicles and playsets seem to be all but dead I see 3-3/4" dying with SW

These totally blindsided me:
Johnny Lightning Star Trek ships.

As soon as I heard they were out (today) I went to TRU. Lo and behold, I find the pegs, with no product on them.

So either they haven't received them or they sold out, which is very good news for anything concerning Star Trek.

I told my brother about those Johnny Lightning Star Trek ships (he's a big time Trekkie/Trekker), he got a set off eBay. If you ever find a complete set, can you pick them up for me. Love to have those in my collection.  8)

Sure, I'll keep my eyes open for 'em.

Apparently, Johnny Lightning has chases that are painted with a pearlescent white. I doubt I'd buy those or even tell if they were different from the regular release. I saw pics of the chases next to the regular version, and to me the difference is negligible.

Hokay, dumb question time (must be if I'm in here):

These are die-cast I presume and Johnny Lightning is a pretty small scale, at least from what I recall.  Are these in classic die-cast scale, a bit larger or a lot larger?   I don't mind mixing in a little bit of other sci-fi, so this could go well with my Eagle, depending on scale.

Yes, they are die cast.

JOHNNY LIGHTNING LEGENDS OF STAR TREK SET OF 6 PCS

They would be aprox 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Very nice detail.  8)

Actually, the ships are plastic. The stands are metal.

I think the argument is that they're considered die cast since they were in a mold, which I guess is the exact same thing as a die.

I guess there a mixture of metal & plastic. I have the Supercar carded & the mail away Supercar. Yeah, I have the Lost In Space vehicles & they are plastic from the looks of it. Thats what I get for being a carded collector!   ;D

I would say you are right HMI as they do fall in that category.

Any chance of picking up a set of ST?  :)

I found the 1701 and the Klingon Cruiser at Suncoast, but I passed. I think I'd rather get the whole set in one fell swoop.

Like, from this place.

Wave 2 of these things will be repaints, almost entirely. Which sucks.

Enterprise A- only new mold
Battle Damaged Reliant
Battle Damaged TOS Enterprise
Klingon D-7 cloaked
NX-01 with polarized hull plating

Eh. It might be interesting, but I'm waiting for an Enterprise E and Voyager. A Romulan Warbird would really kick some ass too.

Why did that site call the D7 a Klingon Cardassian ship?
