The Club has started to post pictures of the Mission Brazil II set.

Anyone going to Florida at the end of March?  Unfortunately, I'll be missing another one.

It still seems hard to justify over $20 per figure when they are just repaints.  Leatherneck still has a Gung-Ho head.  For the $305 plus Club Membership for the set I thought we would at least get a unique Leatherneck head sculpt.

I'm really psyched to see more of the 12" set.  I think it's a great idea and I would really like to pick it up.  I've never been a fan of the Python Patrol so even though I think the Mission Brazil Joe figures will probably be cool, and I'd really like the Cover Girl from the set, I can't justify buying that set.

I was hoping to be able to go to the con this year since Orlando isn't entirely out of the budget, but it's looking less likely.  I think to justify it I'd have to drive and without someone to car pool with that's probably not going to happen.  I'm still thinking about it, though.

For the first time in a LONG time I am going to be getting and keeping the set.

It will finish off the Python Patrol for me and a Mission Brazil set (I had 2 of these back in the original run because I wanted the "Desert" leatherneck).

I even like the 12inch set.

I am not sure I am attending, we will be at Disney earlier in March instead.

Can you buy the set from the Club and have it shipped to you? I won't be able to go to Florida then, unfortunately. But I'd really like to have this set.

BTW, Mainframe and the Python Tele-Viper are up.

Yes, you can always order a set and have it shipped.  I'd have to double check, but usually if you order before a certain date you can get free shipping on the sets.

Info on the con freebie and souvenirs is already posted.

Free item is an Amadillo.  The rest:
Python Patrol Specialist 2-pack (I've read Relampago & Gatilho but no confirmation yet): LE 650
Python Patrol Stinger w/ Motor-Viper: LE 500
Python Patrol Water Moccasin: LE 400
Python Patrol Tele-Viper Parachute Officer: LE 500
Silver Edition Cobra Commander: LE 500

Also the carded Dial Tone we already knew about (LE 600)

No word yet on exactly what the Cobra Commander is yet.  And no pricing info.

12" Collectors get an AT Astronaut Space Diver: LE 200

Depending on how he turns out, would love a shot at the AT Astronaut.  Hopefully he'll make it online like the Henchman did last year.  He was limited to 200 also and although they sold a lot at the show, he didn't sell out.

I'm kind of confused, but are these exclusives made by Hasbro?  I saw some 3.75" Adventure Team guys posted somewhere, and my god they were the coolest things ever.  The little army dude would've made the ultimate green shirt, to me.  He just needed a bunch of different headsculpts.  He was far superior to the 25th style Green Shirts.  I didn't like them, mostly due to the arms.

That AT guy rocked though.  They all did.  But I just wasnt' sure if these were Hasbro approved things or what.  Just curious. :)

All of the Fan Club action figures are commissioned by the Club and made by Hasbro using mostly existing Hasbro sculpts/molds.  The Club has commissioned new heads and even paid to have some existing tools rehabbed.  Hasbro basically makes older molds, that aren't being used, available to the Club to create new characters or new versions of characters.

There was actually just a debate on Hiss Tank about whether or not to include the Fan Club figures in a "complete" collection, meaning are they Hasbro toys that are canon or are they some type of bootleg/unofficial creation that should be thought of outside of the retail store Hasbro collection.

IMO, they're canon because they're made with full approval of Hasbro, by Hasbro.  I don't see it any different than a store exclusive requested by Walmart.  In most cases, they're better because the Fan Club has had those new heads created for some of their figures.

The Adventure Team figures are really cool.  I've picked up the Venom/Commander and Land Adventurer sets so far but have to get on the other two soon.  The bodies use existing parts from various 25th figures and the heads are new.

Are they expensive E?  I'd like one, just to have it for the weirdness.  I really just would like the GIJoe and the box, none of the stuff it comes with.

If Hasbro's making it I really dont' see how you can debate whether it's part of the Joe line...  If someone else were making it using hasbro sculpts, rather than paying Hasbro to do them, then I'd see the other side's point, but if Hasbro's the one making them I really can't see anyone's point that "these aren't part of the line".

The sets are kind of expensive, but "expensive" is always subjective when it comes to exclusives.  The Venom/AT Commander set is $44.99 for paying members (Officers) while the Land, Air and Sea Adventurer sets are $34.99 each.

The Land, Air and Sea Adventurers come with a vehicle while the Venom/Commander set comes with a giant, man-eating plant (explained in the Club magazine comic/file cards).

General's Joes has reviews of all the AT sets with excellent photos.

If you want one of the sets, LMK and I can order it for the Officer's pricing.

Thanks E, but I'm going to probably pass, just due to the cost.  All I wanted is the guy just to stand on my desk...  Loved fuzzhead Joes.  I really think those AT guys would look great with different heads though, as just generic Joe army builders.  I'd go nuts picking up those if I was a collector and they were available in that way.

Did you register this year?  I have at least 4 guys down there right now that we could talk into snagging one on site for you if you would like.

I didn't register this year because I couldn't make Orlando.  But if you have someone that could pick one up for me I'd be grateful.  I don't have a good feel for the 12" set this year, if everything will sell out or if they'll make the Club store again like last year's Henchman (which sold out quickly online).
