Cental Park is also pretty cool. It's huge, but I like the area around the Boathouse personally with the lakes. Brooklyn Bridge is about 40 minutes if you want to walk it round-trip.

Another thing about the Statue of Liberty is that all the tickets to the crown are sold out until it closes. I think that'd be the only way to go. I went when my parents were here and just went up the pedistal. I guess the museums interesting, but the pedistal just gives you a view of Manhattan/Brooklyn and Jersey. You could save some money and just do a boat tour of the area.

The Met is a bit of the way from the Center (along with Guggenheim) but might be worth checking out if you're into art. A show? Depends on the time and money you have.

Are there any ideas that you have?

The museums are definitely of interest.  I write, so any bookish ideas would be up my alley.  I'd love to see the statue of liberty... Might be ok without the crown.

Getting closer... today's reveal was a Marvel one - NYCC Compound Hulk!

Hate to jump in here since I'm not attending, but I might be begging one of you to snag this for me. ;)

Not sure if I can make the Q&A, but I'm definitely interested in hanging out Friday.

Perhaps a loot swap would be good, if anyone finds new figure outside of Manhattan?

If there is going to be a Star Wars excluisve, I'm guessing the reveal will be pretty soon...

According to Derryl Depriest (via the Forcecast), there is no Star Wars exclusive for NYCC.  One less thing for folks to worry about I guess...

Also in that podcast, Derryl confirms that NYCC will have a LOT ("a ton") of TPM3D reveals - movie line, vehicles, a new previously unmentioned sku, etc.  It sounds like they arer pretty much showing all their Spring 2012 cards at NYCC and rendering 2012 Toy Fair meaningless for the most part.

Wow, I wonder if that's going to be the norm from now on with Toy Fair, or what?  I'd be fine with changing from February to October if for no other reason than traveling should, in theory, be better.

Well, I would have been willing to help people out if there had been an exclusive.

Since this is my first con... what should I expect? Long lines...

Probably, but from what I gather, the Hasbro stuff's easy enough to get into if you're going to that.

Yeah, can't say I've ever been to a big CC to give you that scoop...  I just always think of it like the lines at Celebration though, when I picture it.  Long, boring, and making you think you're missing something better going on somewhere else, haha.

Depends on what 2012 looks like... I mean, all that TPM 3D stuff probably will be on-shelf with the post-holiday reset at all the major stores.

They can still show off SDCC exclusives if they feel like doing that again, whatever Vintage waves got bumped from the end of 2011 that they didn't reveal yet, new Clone Wars, whatever new exclusives will be hitting in the Spring (if any)...

...and a lot of Avengers stuff.  So much Avengers stuff.

I was thinking maybe Hasbro is looking at abandoning Toy Fair some?

No love for the Clone Wars line? There's gotta be something new they can show off, even if it's the next 1-2 waves of figures after Wave 12. There's no way Hasbro doesn't have that stuff planned out already.
