I'd already forgot this was coming.  It'll be a Target exclusive in the USA.

Picture here:

At least they reissued a somewhat desired Darth Sidious (inaccurate for the scene, but so is a lightsaber brandishing Vader).

Another chance at that Vader for those who missed him.

The current Shock Trooper mold. (Hasbro loves Shock Troopers)

I'd almost be on board if I didn't already have that Sidious and if they included FX-6 instead of chopper droid. Actually I never got either droid, but FX-6 looks cooler.

Hmnn.  The packaging looks terrible, but it's been so long since I was excited about new Hasbro that I might actually convince myself to buy it.  My biggest gripe with this one is the complete laziness of the offering.  Nevermind the ugly package and repack figures that will turn away collectors, from a kid perspective the figures and accessories don't make any sense.  There's an operating table, but not a removable armor Vader?  So, a kid is going to put light up saber vader on the table and enjoy playing with that somehow?  Vader has a light up saber, but Palps does not?  The two sabers don't look like they're even from the same toy line.  Palp's saber is removable, but Vader's isn't?  What?  Don't even get me started on the droid.  I really don't mind them churning out repacks and love the battle pack concept, but this just feels like Hasbro is going out of their way to provide the worst offering possible for kids and collectors.  This is what I would produce if I was intentionally trying to drive away purchases.  There, I just talked myself out of buying it.

It was for me.  I despise the lull we are in right now and it's a rotten feeling to almost want to buy a worthless turd because of Hasbro's inability to produce anything remotely worthwhile.

Ya know, if the droid actually wasn't made of insta-melt plastic...  *sigh*

I spotted this today at Target. Nothing special at $30, but I suppose it's an okay set for new collectors... if any exist.

Just another example of Hasbro being all over the place.

We get a mix here of kid oriented and adult oriented toys.  Why not go one direction or the other?  If they are aiming at kids, why not pack in a more kid aimed Sidious and the new 5POA clone?

And why in the hell would Vader be clutching a lightsaber when being operated on that table?

Hasbro makes no sense to me anymore.

$30, I might even pay half that for it.  Then repack a new Legends shocktrooper and return the set to the store...hey, it's not wrong. IT'S WHAT KIDS WANT.  :P

For the record, I did immediately press the button.

Hasbro isn't the only one... retail is also crazy. It's hard to notice, but next to the Vader sets are two Holocron Heist Battle packs... from 2010. I didn't check the price or snap a pic of both sets side by side, but I might do that tomorrow.

I'd have ran those HOlocron Heist sets to a scanner to check them Greg!  Just for the fodder for, hopefully, really cheap.  Love the little fish guy and Weequay thug, and the droids are even cool...  :)  I'd have bought those in a heartbeat for sure.

To me, this set is clearly for kids...  I don't look at it and think anything else.  I think they took what toolings were readily available, and threw together something they thought kids would like...  The Emperor's a little surprising sure, but I think they just had this stuff in some kind of close proximity and it was easy to put together for Target who had a boner to put out something they think is "iconic" looking.

It's nowhere near my radar...  It'd have to be discounted steeply for me to care.  I'm also not its clear target audience though.

SDCC tag says retail price $19.99.

Sure, give or take $10.  ???

I'm sure somehow it's a Hasbro conspiracy though.  :-X

I saw this today at a local Target that had mostly reset. Did not think to check the price though. It struck me as pretty hefty compared to their other recent BP packaging.

They also had out the mission 2-packs, and a lone R4-P17. No sign of the 12" Vader or any of the 6" figures, although I am pretty sure those hit and just sold out right away.
