FINALLY... I'm working again!

After being unemployed for four months I have finally found a job.  Actually this company found me.  Today was my first day of working, and I'm doing a month-long project in downtown Chicago.  I'll be doing I.T. Security Administration for a bank... something I've wanted to try for a while now.  It's very interesting stuff, and I'm learning so much.

So, it's going to feel so damn nice when I finally bring a paycheck home.   ;D

I know what you mean...  I've been out of work for about 3 weeks now and It is a pain in the a** to find a decent job.  The search continues...

Congrats on the new gig Chris!  Besides, I'm sure your wife was getting tired of paying for all those Star Tours droids!   ;D   j/k

Hopefully you wow the socks off these new folks, and they keep you on after your month is up.  Good luck with it, and keep us posted on how things are going there...

I just finished work for the summer but the town supervisor likes me so much they keep having me come back to do strange odd jobs. Hell, I get paid for it, so, bring it on!

Taking the train into the city, walking to the office, and booting up the computer... they all feel great to me!  It is so awesome having a job again.  The only bad thing is that it's only going to happen until August 29.  It's just a one month gig, but hopefully they'll either extend my stay there or hire me as a fulltime employee.  I'm not going to worry about it right now, because I'm in a great mood.   ;D

They asked me if I could work an extra two weeks for them.  I immediately accepted their offer.  Some of the guys that I have become friends with said they're looking to hire someone soon, doing the same stuff that I'm getting trained on.  So, hopefully that might turn into something REALLY nice, like a job offer!  I'm not getting my hopes up, but I've definitely got my fingers crossed.
