Hate my running backs.  Even more I hate my draft position.  Football has not been nice to me: my JD drafting record:

2005 - 5
2006 - 11
2007 - 11
2008 - 4
2009 - 8
2010 - 7
2011 - 7
2012 - 9
2013 - 11
2014 - 11

Seriously?  I've been in the top half twice in 10 years.

I end up with better picks in other sports, but here's my history with JD FF just for comparison and where I finished each year.

2014 - 10 - n/a
2013 - 03 - 6th
2012 - 07 - 7th
2011 - 12 - 1st
2010 - 10 - 3rd
2009 - 09 - 5th
2008 - 06 - 1st
2007 - 08 - 5th
2006 - 02 - 11th
2005 - 04 - 5th
2004 - 08 - 1st

I seem to do better with later picks.

Not me.  I'm always towards the back.  Drafting 3rd this year was a treat!

Man, I have not done very well here at all...2nd time with the #1 pick.  I look at my team last year and I still don't know how I missed the playoffs.  I had the 2nd most points and most points scored against me :-\

2014 - 01 - n/a
2013 - 06 - 9th
2012 - 12 - 8th
2011 - 02 - 12th
2010 - 04 - 7th
2009 - 06 - 4th
2008 - 07 - 11th
2007 - 04 - 7th
2006 - 01 - 10th
2005 - 09 - 2nd
2004 - 12 - 12th

Well I got curious (and a little bored) so I looked back.  Pretty easy to calculate average draft position so:

Name - number of years in league - average draft position

Where average draft position is just sum of draft position/number of years in league.  I can't go back further than ten years because that's when I started so I dropped those numbers off Rob and Scott's totals:

Hawaiian Curse - 10 years - ADP = 8.4
The Zods - 10 years - ADP = 7.1
Ice Cream Maker Guys - 10 years - ADP = 5.2
What the Deuce? - 8 years - ADP = 8.7
Ruiner's Cornballers - 8 years - ADP = 5.2
Tatooine Banthas - 4 years - ADP = 4.2
Golden Girls - 10 years - ADP = 6.5
The Cranes - 8 years - ADP = 8.4
Winterfell Wolves = 10 years - ADP = 5.3
Ramminators = 7 years - ADP = 6.0
Bullet Club = 5 years - ADP = 7.2
Falcons of the Vale = 3 years - ADP = 3.3
Dressel Rebel - 8 years - ADP = 7.0
Matt - 6 years - ADP = 5.5

I did it by hand so didn't calculate the error but +/- 1 from six is pretty close to normal distribution.  More than 1 away from six is good/bad luck depending on where you're at.  Big losers are Patrick, Jim and myself (and slightly Rob).  Winners are Nick and Cory.  Marin's had an interesting run over the last four years drafting fifth each time.

Patrick has drafted in the top half three times.
Brent has drafted in the top half only twice.
Jim has drafted in the top half only once.
Rob has four top half picks.

I'm not really happy with how my draft turned out. I think I was kinda sideswiped by picking 9th and I felt like I was just picking at random. Missed the playoffs the last two years so I'm hoping I can at least make the cut this year, but anything would be better than my team last year.

I picked 10th, felt good about the draft and then Yahoo said I was going to win every game outside of week 10 when I have 8 players on bye.

So you guys might as well just fork over the trophy now.

That site is hilarious.  I got a B grade for my draft and have the most "powerful rushing attack" in the league, but am also only expected to win 5 games this season.  At least I'm projected to crush Rob in week 11 unless he can somehow come up with a replacement for B. Pierce by then.   ::)

Two of my starting Running Backs out for a month with injuries, and I have zero depth on my bench. :-\

Y'know what I love about fantasy football?  Luck.

This week and last week I put up the second and third highest scores of the week.  Averaging 102+ points per week.  I love both head to head match-ups.

I've had the opposite luck this year, fortunately.  I have a winning record despite scoring fewer points than points against and I think I might have the lowest overall points scored in the league at this point.  It has definitely been a year for close games though.  Out of my last five, win or lose, the spread has been only about 10 points or less.  I'd actually have one more win if not for a 2pt loss to Patrick back in week #4.

I'm doing alright - except Scott is going to get an easy win against me this week.  I literally only have 5 players who aren't on a bye.  I have no idea how I'm going to cobble together a starting line up.
