Been a fan of Star Wars ever since seeing the movies back when I was 5 and had all the toys as a kid. However, I have only been collecting since the beginning of 2002 near the end of the POTJ line except for the SW LEGO which I have collected since that line began. I can thank Target and their nice clearance prices for getting me into the figs. While searching for clearance priced Lego, I just happened to stumble upon a POTJ Luke, Vader and Han for about $1.74 each. Between the childhood memories of playing with the figures and of course, the price, I picked them up and have been hooked ever since.  ;D

I first saw Star Wars - A New Hope in the 1st Grade. That night my parents took me to Sears with them and I bought my first Star Wars figure, R2-D2 which I still have till this day. I collected Star Wars with my brother for a few years. Then we got into other toys.
When the Mail-Away Han Solo as Stormtrooper came out in 1995 I was hooked all over again.  :)

I also collect Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes (Vintage to Modern), Simpsons, Lord of the Rings, and other toys that catch my eye. I am a big kid who loves toys.

You can check out my toy museum at www.djsyczylo.net

Music: Soooo many interests. Just a few; Misfits/Samhain/Danzig, Neurosis, Sepultura, Tom Waits, Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack

Star Wars fascinated me as a kid, and I still get my jollies from the films. I have a Tusken Raider/Sandpeople collecting focus, and my enthusiasm for collecting has recently been stepped up a bit due to my introduction into the world of bootlegs, and foreign licensed vintage product. The main toy line I collect is Mezco's Living Dead Dolls.

HMI (Hasbro's Missing Integrity)

Name: Ben
Where he be: Waterloo, IA
Occupation: writer, well-educated slacker, bum, whatever
Age: 22
Status: Single, then not, then single, then not. Single now.
Children: None they can pin on me.
Pet: cat named Peregrin, dog named Jarrett.
Musick: Kiss, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix in any form, and scored film music.

I was introduced to Star Wars by way of Return of the Jedi, that being in theaters in a rerelease in 1984. Loved it, and saw Empire and A New Hope on VHS shortly thereafter. Of course, like any child who saw these movies, I had to have the toys. And, here we are. I collect Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel Legends, G1 Transformers, and occasional McFarlane, Star Trek, GI Joe, MOTU, and Buffy figures. Also collect comics and DVDs. I play the guitar. Sort of.

I keep the moniker around because I like it. Hasbro really doesn't bother me that much any more.

Pet: Deceased Sheltie named Tucker
Music: Anything that strikes my mood - mainly rock

I saw Star Wars at age 3.  I was hooked at a very young age.  I was famous for my imitation of R2-D2 in the local stores and with family members.  The people got a good kick out of it.
I was lucky enough to have parents and family members that would buy me the vintage toys growing up.  Most of the toys survived my heavy play and are in good condition.
I really started collecting about 2 years before the Timothy Zahn books started coming out in the early 90's.  It's really kind of ridiculous all the Star Wars stuff I have.  But it's been a bunch of fun owning it.

I liked the OT but back then, I was more into playing with GI Joe, He-Man, Lego and TransFormers. As a teenager I stuck with my Legos and my Joe and TFs were put on a shelf. When I moved out on my own, I started back into GI Joe and TFs. After I met my girlfriend, I started collecting WWF/WWE, the new MOTU, Batman, various Toy Biz lines, various McFarlane lines (mainly the Spawn line). One day we went to stop at Burger King for lunch and I picked up an E1 Qui-Gon that someone had left in the parking lot. After that we went to TRU because I wanted to check and see if they had any new GI Joe figs and the Darth Vader Bespin Duel Saga fig caught my eye. Since then I've concentrated on the POTF2-Saga figs (with a couple vintage Stormtroopers because you can never have enough of them  ;D )

SW was the first movie I ever saw. Was 5 years old and my brother and father took me. A movie like that at such an age can leave quite a lasting impression.

All the people here that say they don't want kids... well I used to think the same way. When you hear them laugh and play it's amazing. And you also get to introduce SW to them. "Son, this is a Han Solo figure.... Let me tell you about the movie he was in called Star Wars..."

Then you open up a box of SW toys and let them go at it. When my boy is old enough I swear that is what I am going to do.

I would give up all mw SW stuff in a heartbeat if given the choice between my kids and SW. No contest.
