Heads up, TRU has all Star Wars LEGO sets Buy One Get One 40% off this week. I went ahead and snagged the OT Microfighters since they didn't have the TRU markup (plus I was waiting for a sale to snag these)

Probably old news to the brickheads here, but I stumbled upon this today.

The 2014 CUUSOO set is going to be the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 vehicle with all 4 Ghostbusters.

I think this looks AWESOME!!!

Loved Ghostbusters as a kid and I think this sculpt is sweet.  I love Back to the Future too, but wasn't as impressed with the DeLorean they did last year.

They mention an MSRP of $50 and availability in June.  Yes please!

Yeah, I'm all over this set.  I just wish they were making the firehouse too like the original design had.

Saw that TRU has a special REBELS pack that includes both the Ghost and the Phantom.  It includes all 6 mini-figs that come in the two individually packed sets.  And if you buy the Superpack instead of the Ghost and Phantom separately it costs about $10 less.

I'd wait for a sale at Amazon personally but it is a nice big fat box.  :)

UCS Slave 1

I have about $90 in VIP points saved up that I know what I'm using them for.  October is double VIP points month too.

Looks awesome, I'm down for one.  My only thing is I wish it was a little more drab and faded in color... but I know they only have so many shades of brick.  The saturated green and brown is a little less UCS in my mind.

I'll check it out when it hits stores/online but I honestly still prefer the 2006 Slave I. Had the sand green colors and looked a lot closer to the color in the films. I'll see if I can get the Boba for cheap somewhere online.

I have the set right here.  I like the set inspired here by Ghostbusters.

Has anyone seen the Lego Advent calendars in stock and go on sale lately?

It seems starting last year there was far less stock of all of the advent calendars.  I didn't find a single one marked down last year, and haven't seen one in stores in weeks.

I've always tried to pick up this year's version on sale to give to the kids the following year, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen again this year.

I was following that pattern, but finally gave up this year.  Sam figured out that he was getting last year's version after seeing the newer one in stores and talking with friends about what they got in their calendars.  I ended up just letting him open the last old one all at once over the weekend, then we kicked off with the 2014 set (which I bought at full price).  I got the 5% red card discount and we had another 5% from the pharmacy, so figured I wasn't going to save much more than that.

I had a much harder time trying to track down the Lego Friends version.  I'm not sure where it is carried outside of the Lego store and had trouble finding it online as well without forking over added shipping.  Out of luck/fate, I happened to see it at the airport in Amsterdam during a layover for just $25 and snagged it.

I'm not sure if they are producing less or if the demand is just getting bigger.  Seems like a lot of our neighborhood kids have them now, which I don't think was the case a few years back.  Small sample, but they seem a lot more popular now.

I had trouble with them this year as well and had to end up paying extra on amazon.  I am guessing that they made less this year since lego.com is sold out and so are all the stores.  My local lego store said they sold out of all of them in the first week of November and that they never got any new stock.
