It sucks that he's trying to wear you down, but you will prevail in the end and justice will be done.  I'm assuming this is all in civil and not criminal court, so you can recoup your legal fees without having to re-file in a different court.

Somewhat relatable, I have a small rental property business and I had some tenants bail on a lease and left their illegal sublet living there.  I was nice and tried to work with the guy, but he could not afford living there by himself.  Even though he had never signed a lease with me, I still had to go through the complete eviction process, hire a lawyer and take him to court.  It took a couple of months and some money, but the day I showed up with the sheriff to get him out was absolutely glorious!  :D

Our legal system is not perfect, but it does work quite well.
This is the way.

Sorry, I'm being kind of quiet about this and not giving details. Anything more would just cost more money and time.

I think the main problem here is our lawyer seems to have lose focus that we are the plaintiffs here not the defendants. The other side acts as if they hold title but they can never get that title. We keep having to defend ourselves with stupid money sucking attacks instead of being on the offense. Our lawyer has also billed for phone calls that last hours to the other side which according to the state bar is not allowed. No lawyer talks on the phone to the other side or anybody for hours. There has also been no professional courtesy extended. It's been almost two years and he still hasn't put it in front of a judge for trail. Now the other side is claiming that we can't have the car because it would make us rich. That is the level of stupidity we are dealing with now.

I think we are going to do that. He needs us more than we need him.

Digging up stuff from the past the last few days Rob?

I was actually wondering about this exact same thing a few days ago.  Is the happy ending working it's way into place?

I've been wondering, too.  I hope things turn out well and your family can recover the car.

There has been a lot of things that have happen. First, we got rid of the lawyer that did nothing but rack up a bill. Interesting thing is he never had a signed contract from us which is required by the Bar. He would be in trouble if they found out. Next we have a buyer for the car that has been taking care of the new lawyer fees. My dad worked out a deal with him. Then back in January my dad died of prostrate cancer so that put things in the air. Now my mom says we finally have a court date of March 29th. Someone is suppose to be appraising the car. So we will see how things go.
