It sucks that he's trying to wear you down, but you will prevail in the end and justice will be done. I'm assuming this is all in civil and not criminal court, so you can recoup your legal fees without having to re-file in a different court.
Somewhat relatable, I have a small rental property business and I had some tenants bail on a lease and left their illegal sublet living there. I was nice and tried to work with the guy, but he could not afford living there by himself. Even though he had never signed a lease with me, I still had to go through the complete eviction process, hire a lawyer and take him to court. It took a couple of months and some money, but the day I showed up with the sheriff to get him out was absolutely glorious!
Our legal system is not perfect, but it does work quite well.
