TFA 3.75" Scale Millennium Falcon
« on: August 20, 2015, 10:45 AM »
3.75" Scale Millennium Falcon Rumors so far -

- it's supposed to be about $120-130
- it'll have pack-in figure(s); rumor = Chewbacca, Finn, BB-8
- it may have nerf-dart firing cannon(s)
- it's most likely not the BMF mold
- it's most likely a brand new Falcon design
- it'll probably have a "fold-out" playset feature like other recent big vehicles

Looking forward to finally seeing some pictures of this thing. :)

Saw the pictures.

Ick.

Another item that's  gonna be selling for twice what it should be.

For what it is - a kid's toy - it will probably go over really well. The figures I'd like myself but I see eBay in the future for these.

Exactly...  The playset portion is really fun looking actually and detailed.  :)

It's the big ticket toy of the iconic ship for kids this year like 1978.

In some ways I think I would have preferred a Ep7 BMF re-do... but for what this is, I'm kinda glad they put a little effort into making up a new Falcon too.

Yeah it's got action features and stuff, but I think it looks like a fun toy.  I know my 5yo will be all over this thing... especially the shooting nerf missile thing. :P

I will give credit for the chess board. The undersized corridor detail is amusingly irritating. Characters crawl to the cockpit. Does the cockpit open or what? No feature is shown. Is there actual landing gear...I'm thinking there isn't. How did Castle Grayskull's laser gun get inside the ship?

Kenner's original Millennium Falcon wasn't released until 1979 (insert Smashing Pumpkin's song). The big ticket item of 78 was the Death Star Space Station.

The frontal image seems to imply a slice down the center of the cockpit so I'm guessing it does open...  It comes off in one piece I think, and voila.  Looks about as spacious as most of the other Falcons have been, which isn't to say very much.

I like that they made one of the bunks functional.  Goofy, but funny.

The undersized corridor detail is amusingly irritating.

What I find funny is, it looks like there is a peg in there.  I guess that's in case you wanted to put BB-8 or maybe Yoda in there since they'd probably be the only figures small enough to get in there.

Does the cockpit open or what?

If you look close, you can see it's got the same style hinge as the Kenner Falcon does, so it must flip-open like the Kenner vintage one.

I like that they made one of the bunks functional.  Goofy, but funny.

Looking at the pics again this AM, there are a ton of details in there...  hatches/storage spaces, looks like you can put a figure in the "nerf-cannon" turret/station, pegs for figures.

I guess I'm easy to please, but I like it.  I'll be buying one for sure.

Although I would have rather seen a modified BMF as well, looking at these pictures, I kind of like it too.  Granted, it is very much a "toy" for the kiddos, but I don't think that's a bad thing.  It looks like you can switch things out to make it look "normal", and there are a lot of neat little details in there as was mentioned already.

I think that the days of the hyper detailed collector type vehicles (like the BMF, the AT-AT, the AT-TE, etc.) might be done - or at least hibernated.  With a new movie coming each year, and likely a new line to accompany it, we're probably going to see more kid-focused stuff for the line in general, and that's probably how it should be.  Hasbro really want the 6" stuff to be "for us", so that's probably where we'll see them go all out with figures and vehicles for now (depending on how the giant TIE does this year).  I know I'll be picking up this Falcon, it looks fun and something fun for my daughter to play with as well.

I will as well - but mainly for the unique Finn and Chewie figures...

I'm in the same boat for this.  Hell, most of the TFA stuff I've seen so far will be in my 5 year old's room!
This is the way.

I have spoken.

Chewbacca looks a lil more tubby no?  Maybe not but I thought he looked maybe a little different.

I kind of like it as well... as an updated/modified POTF2 Falcon, it looks great. Only part I don't "get" is the Nerf cannon. I won't be buying one, but I bet it will sell well.

I could not see myself spending the $100+ that this Falcon is rumored to sell for.  The exclusive figures that are packed with this Falcon are kind of a kick in the shins, though.  And as playsets go, it does look interesting.  But not $135 interesting.

Based on the TIE and X-Wing, I expect this new Falcon will be made entirely of nerf foam.
