LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
« on: February 2, 2016, 10:02 PM »
You had to see this coming with the success of the movie and these video games:

Now it's just a matter of whether to buy this when it comes out or wait until they combine EP7, EP8 and EP9 releases into one game like they did with the Saga Edition several years ago.
The 60mm Sith Lord - All the hate and anger you've come to expect, now in a new conveniently sized package!

I wonder how much else now from the Star Wars universe will be put in this game.

Looks like there's a deluxe edition that comes with a FN-2187 minifigure.

This just released today and I was going to pick it up for me and the kids, although I'm struggling to understand what you get with a Season Pass with the deluxe edition.  I'm not a gamer, so I'm not familiar with what all you get with a season pass and why I should pay an extra $10.

Thoughts?

You get access to downloadable content - levels, character packs, etc.

Thanks Jeff.

Does a "season pass" last for one year, or is it permanent?

It varies game to game but the pass usually lasts for just a "season" of DLC. Sometimes it's a set time or sometimes it's a set/planned group of DLC.  Definitely not permanent.

Deluxe Edition also comes with a FN-2187 Minifigure (sole reason I purchased the game :-[)

Other goodies include, as Jeff said, the Season Pass and an Empire Strikes Back character set. I think the PS4 version has some bonus exclusive goodies too, but I wouldn't know about that since I got the Xbox version.

If you're looking for another deal on this, TRU is offering a $10 gift card with purchase of the game.  Looks like it is in store only.
