Tool warmup tour:

WED-MAY-10 DENVER TEMPLE BUELL THEATRE

Man I wish I could go to that, it sure is awesome that it is right during finals. On the other hand I am going to a Nine Inch Nails concert on th 30th of May, and probably couldn't afford both. So it all works out in the end.

Last night :

Hawthorne Heights
First to Last
Emery

* Didn't really want to go, but I had a good time. None of it is really my kinda sound, but they had their moments here and there that didn't suck. I got in free, so, I can't complain.

Tonight :

Bob Dylan
Merle Haggard

* Still pissed that Dylan hasn't played his guitar in concert in probably 10 years. Merle Haggard will make up for Dylan's lack of enthusiasm, though. Dylan sucks, these days... There, I said it. Maybe I'll recognize a few of the songs, this time around, eh?

Wednesday Night :

BB King

Edit -

Haggard put on a good show, but god damn - Bob Dylan came out of nowhere and sang really, really clear (considering). I recognized all but maybe 2 songs, this time. Very good show.

I think Dylan's got a pretty notorious rep for being really erratic from one show to the next.

I saw him a couple years ago (on a similar tour, but with Willie), and I was ready to go about four or five songs in--and I'm a Dylan fan, and that was the first (and only) time I'd ever seen him.  Stuck around because--hey--he's Bob Dylan.

That being said, I'd still go see him again anytime he played around here because--hey--he's Bob Dylan.

Exactly. He's Bob Dylan.

In all truth, he could get on stage and fart into the microphone, and I'd probably clap.

The Willie/Dylan show was pretty awesome, but only because of Willie. I've heard that Dylan is pretty erratic, too... One of my friends said about three or four years ago, he literally hummed through his setlist... How lame is that? Luckily this time around Dylan, decided not to **** us around... I still can't get over the fact that I recognized all but 2 songs he sang... Here's the setlist :

1.    Maggie's Farm
2.    She Belongs To Me
3.    Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
4.    Positively 4th Street
5.    'Til I Fell In Love With You
6.    It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)
7.    Just Like A Woman
8.    Highway 61 Revisited
9.    Visions Of Johanna
10.    Cold Irons Bound*
11.    Boots Of Spanish Leather
12.    Summer Days*

     (encore)

13.    Like A Rolling Stone
14.    All Along The Watchtower

* Had no idea what he was singing

Sounds like you saw a good one.  Think he played a few of those when I saw him, but honestly, I don't remember a whole hell of a lot about that show.  Not because I was wasted or anything, but because it was a really forgettable show.  And I, too, enjoyed Willie a lot more than Bob.

I just got my ticket to The Sounds of the Underground tour. With Ozzfest's horrible lineup, this will be the place to be for metal this year... \m/  ;D

Ever since I saw Crossroads years ago I've wanted to see one of the blues legends like BB King in concert.  I'm jealous.

Duh!  Wrong Crossroads...   ::)

It was this one:

Karate Kid learns lessons on guitar-playing and living life from BB King.  Then he gets it on with Jami Gertz.

Isn't that the one with the ending guitar duel between Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai? If so, that's a classic scene....

Just picked up 2 lawn seats for Bruce Springsteen with The Seeger Sessions Band. I'm very excited to be seeing The Boss, and hearing all the classic songs from the collection he did. Very cool. It's Monday the 19th.
