Yeah, I was going to get Metallica tickets too on the presale locally, but only the third upper deck was left  ::)  I'd rather save $75 and get a DVD than pay for those nosebleeds, there's just no point for them.  I was in right as they went onsale too.  I'll see if they saved any good seats for the regular folks when the full sale goes tomorrow, if not, no Metallica for me.

I was in right at 10 too, but I was able to get lower level. I am 17 rows off the floor so I have decent seats.
I have been told to go to hell; well at least I will know everyone there!

Metallica was the first metal band I got into growing up, but I haven't seen them live since 95 or so.  I think System of a Down and Limp Bizkit was the last concert I saw back in 99.  Just not my cup of tea to see bands live anymore.  Did Fred Durst die or something?  meh

93X a local radio station....

They suck.  At any given time I tune in - it's always the same STP, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Rage, Nirvana or Smashing Pumpkins songs in rotation.  Lame..

I was thinking about that one for old time's sake but decided that if I'm going to overpay to see one of these psuedo-punk bands that I used to listen to I'd rather go see Rancid next month.

I don't know if you ever listened to Propagandhi, but if you did they're playing The Door in May.

And I'm all over that one.

if i had known about rancid that might have been the way i went since i have never seen them live and i have seen the offspring a couple of times.
i have heard the name propagandi before but never really listened to their music.  i will have to check them out.

My next show:

The Band with One Good Song:  Monday, October 19, Norman, Oklahoma

:o

Slight change of plans:

The Band with One Good Song:  Monday, October 12, Dallas, Texas

so I can see Muse open up for them instead of the godforsaken Black Eyed Peas.

And this will actually be my next show, apparently:

Monday, June 15

Just scored 5th row floor seats for AC/DC.  Yay.

And I might have a line on Metallica floor tickets as well....

All at retail price.  Sweet.

Tickets went on sale about 2 days ago.

I don't know if you'd like them - they're pretty much angry, anarchist Canadians.

In other news, a gap in my childhood is about to be filled.  Screeching Weasel is together (minus Jughead apparently) and will be playing a show in Austin in June.  I always wanted to see them but from the time I discovered them until they broke up they never played in Florida.

I bought some tickets earlier this week.

Here are the summer shows I've got tickets for so far...

Flight of the Conchords - May 17
Isis - June 16
Death Cab for Cutie (this officially makes me an emo ***, I know)- July 13
Tool - July 19

Plus a bunch of cool bands are playing a free outdoor summer concert series, including Bon Iver, M. Ward, Black Keys, and Sonic Youth.  I'll hit all of those....

Thinking about picking up some tickets for Coldplay when they're at SPAC here in June. Also considering tickets to see Eddie Vedders solo tour, as it starts here in Albany.

Speaking of Coldplay concerts, they're offering a free live album up for download on their site: http://lrlrl.coldplay.com/leftright.php I gave it a listen, and they sound great live. I hope they sound just as good if I wind up attending.
The picture kept, will remind me...
