So, now the question is: will the new headsculpt Leia be offered in the red/black box or is she only going to be offered on the vintage card?

I'd say it's likely that New Headsculpt Leia will only be on the Vintage cards as she's already been in the red/black box.  I suppose if she gets repacked in a future case, you might see it, but probably not likely?

Looking at some of the in-hand pictures that have surfaced, the headsculpt (or at least the paint apps) on this version of Leia are an immense improvement.

I'm personally divided about these new 40th Anniversary figures...  I do like the look of the carded figures, but since I've been collecting the Black Series 6" figures since the beginning, I have all of these figures, save the newest ones like the Tusken Raider, Jawa, etc.  I have Luke, Leia, Han, R2D2, C3PO, Vader, Stormtroopers, etc.  Do I get a set of the vintage carded figures or just stick with what I have?  I'm tempted just to stick with what I have, though I'll probably get another Han and of course the new-tooling figures  ;)

Easy pass for me, but if you're in to packaging I can see how these would be tempting.

I know it will depend on sales and all that, but I wonder if they will continue this vintage "line look" beyond the original 12. I guess we've already seen the exclusive X-Wing Luke and R5-D4, so maybe they'll continue up to the first 21? That would involve a few more new figures. In the past we started out with the VOTC line and VTSC lines which were pretty limited in releases, then the TVC line came along and blew things up.

I'm thinking it will continue to the end of the year and encompass more vintage and probably TLJ as well.

I had to hit up two different Targets and do some fancy talking, but I finally was able to snag all of Vintage Wave One plus the Vader set today after I got off work.  :)

The first store only had Han, Luke and Leia left, but at the second store I was able to sift through a whole fresh case. That was pretty sweet. Best of all, I was able to throw in a couple of extra AT-ACT drivers to take advantage of both the $10 and $25 discounts. (Can always return those later on previous receipts)

So basically five figures plus the Legacy pack for $105 wasn't too terrible. I wasn't planning to buy these at first but I'm going to jump in as long as it is a very limited run. 12 or even 21 I can deal with but any more than that and I'd have to seriously rethink the whole thing. Just no space.

Hopefully they have direction to have this endcap up for sure

Big difference between this must be up 4/16 and a general planogram date of 4/16

Hopefully it's not like the Logan/X-Men endcap where they just shift old pegwarmers from the regular aisle to the endcap

As I'm sitting here thinking......... Isn't Target not open tomorrow?

That sucks. Don't think my job will let me come in late on Monday............

No signs of the vintage stuff at the Target by my house today.
