Just picked up and read the first one. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to this new one.

Likewise... I used to read them all but hadn't read a Star Wars novel in at least ten years.  Heir to the Empire trilogy is still my favorite, so I bought Thrawn and read it.

I enjoyed it, and I'd be all about another one.

Will it explain how Thrawn was taken away by a space whale?

It's about how he crosses into another time line and Rukh kills him for destroying his planet and suppressing his species......
