This was not on my radar at all as a possible buy, but after that quick look and description I really want it.

The only question I have is how does the pack-in Stormtrooper's sculpt compare to the Rogue One stormie sculpt? Are there obvious sculpting differences (apart from the paint job?)

I'll have to grab them for a closer side-by-side comparison.

Edit: The sculpt is similar but the mimban trooper is definitely different. Details are crisper and there are some belt changes as well. Not to mention the unique helmet.

Great photos, Jayson!  I wasn't sure what to expect from Hasbro with this particular vehicle, but it looks like Hasbro delivered.  Especially on the leg articulation!

Yup, thanks for sharing Jayson, it's pretty neat...  I like the efforts on blast apart features.  Seems like they're trying new things there.  The carded Mimban Stormtrooper blows so that's welcome updating there too.

The walker's smaller than I'd hoped for, and that's my personal hang-up.  Won't me I won't get it, but I may get it for customizing/alteration more than anything else.  Details like the footpads are kinda meh for me and the scale is just off, the cannon is a tad wonky looking for me...  It's neat, better than the AT-DP from Rebels by far, and so I may be picking it up for its usefulness but not for its intended purpose.

Great job on that, Jayson! As always, less is more when it comes to things like that and you showed some great restraint in getting it right where it should be without going crazy.

Now you're just making Hasbro look bad.    :-X

I think your weathering is a bit heavy (but much better than Hasbro's), but it shows how simplistic their paint job was and how much better it could be.  I'm not sure how much work it takes for a factory setup to do a slightly better paint job, but other than a few random splotches it looks like they skipped the paint completely.

Jayson’s work was really similar to what the Acid Rain Toys have applied and it’s all done by hand.  It sounds funny to say that in this modern age but some stuff just has to be labor intensive still.  When it’s done well it stands out for sure.

The funny thing too is as painting a model goes, which that more or less is, this is actually fairly simple but still labor intensive.  The work guys put into model kits can be painstakingly complex and intricate utilizing a ton of different styles materials and techniques.  Jayson shows though that even “simple” is incredibly effective but still it would be a hefty cost addition to toys with how labor is costing more overseas these days.

So, I did a thing....

Apparently someone else did a thing....or rather, stole your idea and posted it on their front page.  ::)

To be fair the guy who did Jayson’s thing was honest and said as much.  Jedi Temple Archives on the otherhand chose to omit that information from the guy’s post and post it to their front page instead.  If anyone ever wanted to know who is taking the high road in that feud, there are many instances of similar things.  Jayson has posted many things they have taken and not credited going back for quite a while now.

I believe there was even some “Disqust” editing and/or removals as well iirc.
