2018 SDCC Exclusive Centerpiece TFA Rey vs Kylo Ren

$109.99 at Hasbro’s Booth #3329.

It looks like it's part centerpiece (Rey and base/environment) and part Black Series 6" (TFA Battle Damaged Kylo Ren).

Not really doing it for me, but looks cool. Rey reminds me a lot of the Unleashed line in a good way.

I already technically have these thanks to Jesse James grabbing the Kmart exclusives a few years back. Easy pass

I like it. But $110 is insane.

I don't like it all.  Looks like its all Centerpiece-ish.  Heavy on the "ish".

Wow, this may be the stupidest thing they have released in this line since the Greedo/Han 2-pack. Nevermind that we already got this scene already, with both characters AND the base, AND the Kylo Ren centerpiece from Jakku is still cluttering the shelves, but to top it off by charging $110? That's super weak.

What exactly is supposed to light up in a nighttime forest battle scene anyway?

This should go on a T-shirt.  :)

I think it looks cool and to a huge TFA fan it is probably a good centerpiece and all but yeah I am also in the camp that these aren’t selling well at retail and Hasbro needs to maybe bail.

Hate to be that guy but would these sell better in 4” scale for less money? 🤔

I think if they were generally smaller, and a good bit less $, they might work.  I dunno.

The Hoth one I’m using as a 4” display with Hoth Troopers as the foot is about 4” scaled actually.  It looks neat. 🤷‍♂️

I also paid a fraction what it cost sooooo yeah.

I can see doing the same with the Kylo one out now, ditching the figure and making it a Sandtrooper scene of sorts.  But not for more than $25.

At first when I saw the image of this I thought it was one of those Sideshow Collectibles VS scenes that they had done.  I'm not sure if they're still doing those, but whatever.

I like the CONCEPT.  It's a cool scene to present this way.  But it definitely suffers from a few problems.
-The Kmart exclusives that have the snow/ice bases along with Rey and Kylo Ren already covered some of this ground
-The pre-posed nature of Rey at least.  Kylo Ren looks like he might have some articulation.
-The price.  $110?  Really?!?!

Taking all of that into account, I can understand why Hasbro might have opted for this scene.  It's a Sequel Trilogy set, and I think they wanted something to represent that era.  The TVC set covers the new EU with Dr. Aphra, and the Han Solo Mynock hunt set covers the OT.  Frankly, I would rather have seen something from THE LAST JEDI since TFA has been covered so thoroughly in the 6" TBS line.  But seeing how wary LFL has been with revealing spoilers from TLJ, I can understand why Hasbro wouldn't have been able to develop something related to the TLJ duels:  LFL wouldn't let them for fear of spoilers.

The water mister is a weird choice. The thought of water in my collection display scares me. I don't want it airborne. I have one snow globe and it is relegated to the floor just in case

Yeah, I shook my head over that, too.

The CONCEPT is cool.  It's supposed to depict the steam coming from the snow as the lightsabers were dragged through it during the duel.  That kind of a detail is really interesting and shows some thought.... until it doesn't.

But having water or mist around a collection?  And a background with electronics?  It does seem like a recipe for disaster.  If I get this set I would likely NEVER use the water misting feature.

Agreed, neat idea, but pass. Doesn't seem different enough from the Kmart figs to warrant $100+, and I'd rather put that money elsewhere. Looks cool though.

I never picked up the centerpiece pieces, so easy pass for me.

Got this today from Hasbro's PR team. The set is actually really, really nice - great presentation and it looks awesome in the box with the light-up function.

Not sure it's worth $110 at the end of the day, but it is a really cool piece in person.  :-\

Okay, legit question about this set:  is Kylo Ren an articulated figure?  Because the promo photos show what may be articulated joints.
