Galaxy of Adventures 3.75" Basic Figures
« on: November 28, 2018, 01:03 PM »
I don't know that we need a whole forum for these so I'll just stick them in here since this is sort of the Spring 2019 5POA line forum.

Now that Disney/LFL has officially announced the Galaxy of Adventure animated shorts and the Hasbro line supporting it ("available on December 1, exclusively at Walmart and then nationwide in January 2019"), I can start up a thread for the figures without incurring the wrath of Hasbro PR team. ;)

Yakface has been out in front of this for a while so hop on over there for pics of the first wave.  Basically 5POA line repacks with a mini-comic in totally tubular packaging.

Just so you know, Jeff, that last line was read with "surfer dude" voice in my head!
This is the way.

Are they definitely all repacks?  Which Bespin Han is that?  In Yak Face's photo I can't quite place it...

I'd assume it is the Bespin Han from the TLJ-branded two-pack last year.

Yes, they are all repack/reused sculpts.  Force Link repacks don't have the Force Link chips anymore though apparently.

Bespin Han is the 2015 SL24 Bespin Han Solo sculpt.

Stormtrooper is slightly interesting as it's the SOLO Mimban Stormtrooper Commander kitbash (from the Target 6-pack) without the pauldron.  Nice general pose army builder... but not worth investing in too many at $10 each.

Isn't the idea behind the "show" to make 7 year olds care about Luke Han Leia etc.? So here's same 7 year olds chance to have a specific line / display of those characters. Short lived line, why not?

Oh nevermind, it's not super articulated Momaw Nadon. That's why not. Got it.

Awesome, good to know - especially about the Stormtrooper.  If it's a kitbash, I'm in for at least one.

I really can't rap my head around the point of this line, especially with the price increase. Sounds to me more like a Disney decision rather than a Hasbro decision.

Saw wave 1 of those at Walmart Saturday. They were put no where near the star wars section. The price is way too much for them.

A couple bucks for the comic book doesn't seem all that insane to me?

I’ve not seen these here yet but I’m also not looking too hard either.  The price seems about what I’d expect between packaging pack in and figure.  They weren’t gonna be $5 or even the same price as a basic figure after all.

Whoa. Two non negative posts back to back. Slow down.

I'll make it three. I agree. You can question the line altogether I guess. Though I thought I understood why they made it. So with the different packaging and pack in of course it's more $.

I appreciate them for what they are, a novelty version of the figures. And I like them as a collection unto themselves enough to really want to build a display piece for the 8 figure collection.
