Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019 Hasbro Panel
« on: April 1, 2019, 10:47 AM »
Is anyone here attending Celebration? I'm not going, but I'm hoping we get some info on new releases for the VC. Does Hasbro generally have a Q&A panel at these things? I know they do for Toyfair, but not sure about Celebration.

Are they streaming a lot of the content again this year?

Is this going to be one of the panels you have to get into the lottery for? I am hoping I can get into this one. If anyone remembers the panel from C6, I sorta prodded Hasbro to confirm the scale of the BMF Slave 1 during q&a, lol

I hope someone in the Q&A is able to prod them on a lot of stuff. What VC repacks can we expect? Will there finally be an updated Max Rebo band at the correct size (they're pretty oversized right now)? What's up with distribution?

Distribution has been broken for over a decade.

I'm actually ok with repacks...especially for things that were hard to find (recently I found a Walrus Man through Walmart.com).  Just as long as it's not re-releasing something that's still on the pegs (Jakku Rey and Jyn Erso readily come to mind).

Gammorean Guard is a straight repack and I was thrilled to purchase another!
This is the way.

I wish Hasbro would sell Jyn and Rey's heads using the new paint technique. Jyn in particular is an awesome figure that deserves a better face. Maybe pack her with a cloth scarf to make her a "new" figure.

Though I really don't need to see Rey back on the pegs. Especially not the TFA figure that's still stinking up pegs Nationwide.

The Rey is a good figure....Hasbro just made way too many.  But she's the hero of the story so I guess it's understandable.  (I needed 3 or 4 of them for my displays).

But she’s too scene specific (her speeder outfit).  If they had done a gloveless version, I’d but a new one.

Stupid work, scheduling big meetings during Hasbro panel time.  :'(

Taking a quick work break to point out the JD twitter feed has panel pics from our good pal and fellow Minnesotan, Matt - see his twitter feed here.

I'll get the official press pics up sometime tonight hopefully.  Sounds like pre-orders for a whole bunch of stuff will be opening up tonight/tomorrow on EE or HasbroPulse.
