A few weeks ago I went into Micheal's and saw a couple of asiles of Halloween stuff, mostly the Halloween village buildings.  Haven't seen any Christmas stuff yet this year.

Yup, Michael's up here had the Halloween stuff out in full force, though with "crafty" stuff I guess some time to make the actual items isn't that unreasonable.  And it's only 10 weeks away.

Still no Christmas stuff out here yet.  Last year was a new record for early though.  As soon as school started (1st week September) it was out in force. :'(

The only good news is that up here, our toy aisles drop off considerably during the spring and summer seasons, so both back to school and Christmas harken of more (good) toys on the pegs.

I usually enter the local Wal Marts through the Garden section because it is usually right by the toy aisle.  It is an easy way to avoid the geriatric cart getter and the fat people in the scooters who take up the whole aisle

I almost fell out of my chair laughing... I do the same thing to avoid the same thing...
...carbon stars with ancient satellites colonized by sentient fungi. Gas giants inhabited by vast meteorological intelligences. Worlds stretched thin across the membranes where dimensions intersect...

You mean the panties your mother laid out for you?

My favorite quote about the end of the world comes from Lewis Black:

"...and if you walk to the end of the block, there sits a Starbucks. And directly across the street -- in the exact same building as that Starbucks -- there is... another Starbucks. There is a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks! And ladies and gentlemen, THAT is the end of the universe." - Lewis Black

No, actually I do all my laundry. My mom got tired of me messing up my ironed clothes so she makes me do it now.

Was in Hobby Lobby earlier this week and they had their Christmas Trees and ornaments out, along with with a couple aisles of wreaths and lights/decorations.  Unfortunately, I fear they've set a new standard by putting the stuff out BEFORE the 4th of July Holiday ::)

Anyone else hear the theme from Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" here?

Have you never heard of Christmas in July?
