It's that time of the year I guess.  I just saw the big Christmas display at Wal-Mart today when I went on a run during lunch.  And before you start counting, it's still 6 weeks until Halloween!

7 actually ;)  Funny that you mention it.  When we were coming back from the neighborhood pool today, I noticed that one of our neighbors had already started putting up their Halloween decorations  >:(

Dear Everybody Else on Planet Earth,

Please wait to do anything involving Christmas until after Thanksgiving.  The American Thanksgiving.  This includes, amongst other things, putting Christmas ads on TV, putting Christmas displays in your stores, putting Christmas lights on your houses, so on and so forth.  Christmas is great and everybody loves it but it is very possible to have too much of a good thing.  Let's not make Christmas any less special than it already has become.

Your friend,

Matt

Too late.  Lowes had a Christmas display up by Labor Day Weekend and Wal-Mart put their displays up by mid-October.

I'm already seeing the Christmas TV ads....the Garmin ones are pretty funny.
This is the way.

This happened in Pittsburgh.

The station for Oldies and Classic rock switched to Christmas stuff beginning of Nov.

I love Christmas, but it really gets overplayed. Thanksgiving is getting lost in the mix and it's importance (at least to we Americans) has greatly diminished. To me the Christmas season starts the Friday just after Thanksgiving.

It's not being a scrooge, it's giving Thanksgiving its due.

Dear The Same People Matt Addressed:

I second the above. Plus, enough with the animated breast avatars. During, before, and after the Christmas season. Thanks.

Just because the Christmas season seems to get earlier and earlier we now have to be anti-boob?   :-\
