Anyone Buy the Battlestar Box Set?

Not yet, but I plan to.  Scoped it out at a few places this week, but am contemplating just asking for it for Christmas so I can save myself almost a hundred bucks.  Looks like a pretty cool set though, and I loved the old campy TV series that I haven't seen in about 20 years, so I'm anxious to see if I still feel the same about it.  I'm sure I will.  Now bring on the Cylons!

Me thinks I should add it to my Christmas wish list. Up here it's about $107. w/tax!
Not a bad price considering I spent over $200. for my complete Space 1999 set!  :o

No offence to die-hard fans here, but if you haven't seen this show in 20 years and have fond memories of it I strongly recommend renting before buying.
I too loved this show as a child, anything space-related or similar to SW was fine by me.  But a few years ago I rented the "theatrical" movie pilot of Battlestar.  It is god-awful!  The effects, the "plot", the acting....uugghh.  The Cylons were still kinda cool, but...let's just say I had a hard time finishing the video.
IMO your money would be much better spent elsewhere.

Found it on sale at Walmart tonight for only $76.24, which is about $25 less than it's SRLP.  By far the best price that I've seen on it so far, so I went ahead and snagged it.  I've heard a couple other comments like Paul's above, so I'm a little sketchy on whether I actually want to keep it and watch it, but I figured I'd snag it for cheap now, and decide later!

Anyone else splurge on this set yet?

If you were a fan, then buy it.  I borrowed a few discs from a friend and I am loving this.  There are so many extras and the picture quality and sound is so much better.  The episodes are in there entirety too, something not seen since the original broadcast.  Sci-Fi channel really cut these up.  I am also told that the pilot episode is the full 3 hour version.  If I can find for under $80 this weekend I will pick up.  Hope this helps.
