Plastic Sun- Sonic Youth

Never really got into Sonic Youth until recently. I dig it.

Hey, look at that.  Here's what was playing on the way home from work tonight:

Not their best record, but the first that I ever bought--so there's some sentimental value there.

Just saw 'em a couple of weeks ago in Dallas, doing a little mini warm-up tour for their new record coming out in June, Sonic Nurse.  Good stuff.

Also found out that they'll be co-headlining the Lollapalooza tour this summer, along with the greatest band in the world, The Flaming Lips.

More good stuff.

How dare you...

Yeah, but please don't tell Axl.  Or else I'll be the next reason that Chinese Democracy isn't out yet.

And by the way, good choice on Neil.  I like how everything you listen to, with the exception of the Wiggles, is in some way, always going to relate back to Pearl Jam.

I can do it with your music too

My favorite band's Wilco.

Do something with that, smart guy.

I just saw the Teaser Trailer for "Garden State", the new Natalie Portman film, which comes out in July, and I fell in love with that song "Let Go" by Frou Frou, which is played during the whole teaser.  So yes, I also did like their song "Breathe In", so yes, I went out and bought their new cd Details, they have a weird sound and I like it!

Does anyone else like their music?

Picked up the new Modest Mouse and Ben Kweller CD's today...MM is great, haven't had a chance to listen to Kweller yet, and I'm still waiting for the EP he was supposed to put out with Ben Folds. Speaking of Ben Folds, where the heck is he!?

Since they announced the line-up for this year's Lollapalooza, I've been listening to some old Sonic Youth, Morrissey, Polyphonic Spree...

Here's the line-up:

Morrisey,
Polyphonic Spree,
Sonic Youth,
String Cheese Incident
Flaming Lips,
Modest Mouse,
Interpol,
Libertines,
Atmosphere...more to come.

I don't feel like starting another thread just for this, but if you don't like Nickelback, watch this.

http://myweb.nmu.edu/~klausche/nickelback.mpg

"We got any Nickelback fans in Portugal?"

--silence--

"You sure?"

Good news/bad news regarding Wilco:

Bad news:

A Ghost Is Born has been delayed two weeks, to June 22nd.

Good news:

You can hear it in it's entirety at their website for free:

http://wilcoweb.com/ghost/index.html

So that's what's spinning streaming.
