Ever since the baby's arrival, I've had little opportunity to listen to any of my CDs, but was able to pop in Elliot Smith's excellent XO this past Saturday while driving to my Dad's house in Modesto. Smith is was such a wonderful musician.

One of my all time favs, great music at the peak of the hysteria

BTW, some of the stuff that appears in Almost Famous is a direct homage to the time Crowe spent with the boys while filming this movie

I think I could listen to Drown by the Pumpkins over and over and over and over again.  Many a night I did falling asleep to that hypnotic feedback at the end of the song

Again, listening to this guy:

Do they get any better than him?

No, no they don't.

That closely resembles my Johnny Cash, John Denver, John Ritter, Fred "ReRun" Berry and Dave Coulier impersonation.  Is this taken before or after he died???

Hey, now.  Watch it, chronic masturbator.

Don't make me do to you what I did to Fred "Rerun" Berry last year.

I've edited my above post to add in Dave Coulier and Fred "Rerun" Berry

On a somewhat related note, Glen Cambell pleaded guilty to DUI and departing from the scene of an accident on Monday.  Some of you might recall that Glen sang one of the greatest 'hits' in music, "Rhinestone Cowboy."  Carry on.

I will remember those of you that are mocking the almighty Man in Black.  (And I know about that "thing" you have for Clay Aiken, too, Force Guy. . .)

Anyway, what's almost spinning--at least, when it comes out next month:

Their first record in like six years.

But I suddenly got the inexplicable urge to hear "Over the Hills and Far Away" by these guys:

So that's exactly what I'm doing.
