I have never been a huge NIN fan (or a fan of, as the kids say, "industrial" music in general), but I gotta say, I kinda liked it.  It was more melodic and less noisy than I thought it'd be.  Will definitely have to give it a few more listens.

I haven't heard the whole album yet, but I can say I like the innovative marketing/concept behind the album.  Don't care much for the manner in which TR has gone 'political,' but I still appreciate the way his music sounds and the way he creates it.

Musicians taking the role of political activists is played out and too 'hollywood' for my taste.

Give me anything pre-The Fragile and I'm happy.

Are you familar with their early work?  Knowing your wide range of musical taste, you should give The Fragile a listen.

The only stuff I've really listened to is The Downward Spiral, but I think that was because copies were issued to everyone who was a teenager in 1994.  And of course I know "Head Like a Hole" and maybe a couple others.  But I've mellowed out a lot since then, and find that much of NIN's music is just too heavy and noisy for my tastes.  But I do have access to most of it, so maybe I'll give it a shot sometime.

Yeah, right.  I'd rather listen to The Dixie Chicks than Ted Nugent.  I've changed because of a few things when it comes to politics, you might be surprised.  And I did it all without the help of hollywood.

Damn near everyone.  The good ol days when music was different...that was about the same time rap was decent too!

Give The Fragile a try if you have access...it's not near as noisy / angry as TDS.  Some great instrumental tracks too that I'm sure you'll like.
