I just got a stack of old Marvels...

A friend of mine just dropped off a bunch of comics here. I'm pretty stoked about it, even though none of them are really worth anything and they smell like a musty basement, plus they haven't been stored with backer boards.

There's a 1994 reprint of X-Men #1 from 1963.
Jim Lee's X-Men #1 from 1991, which I already have two copies of, but, eh.
Uncanny X-Men Annual #17
Uncanny X-Men #'s 173 (old!), 329
The Adventures of Superman #500, that whole Back From the Dead thing
X-Factor #'s 72, 74

Now, for the really weird stuff that knocked my socks off.
RoboCop #'s 4, 5. Didn't even know Marvel printed it.
Positively ancient (they're from 1977, so they're older than me ;)) Marvel Godzilla comics. #'s 2, 6, 10, 12, 13
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III movie adaptation

My favorite part, though, is Bucky O'Hare #1 from 1991. Wild, wild stuff, man. Larry Hama wrote it.


Anyone else ever have any finds like this?

Back in 1981 or so, a bunch of us scamps stumbled onto a huge box left by the dumpster, and it was filled with Club, Cherri, and Penthouse mags… needless to say were ecstatic as the loot was divvied up. Many of the Penthouse issues were from the seventies and featured the great comic strip “Oh Wicked Wanda!” that was fully painted by the awesome Ron Embleton, who also happened to illustrate the pictures seen in the end credits of “Captain Scarlet”.

I always hear about these magical, mystical "found stash of pornos behind a Dumpster" stories, but I was never lucky enough to be involved in one of my own. 

Damn shame. 

I'd say, though, that the past seven years of free internet porn have probably made up for it. . .

Never had the pleasure of lucking upon a mythical stash of anything really.  Maybe I need to do a little more dumpster diving...

Sometimes I get into a weird nostalgic mood for my prepubescent dirty mags, and frantically search ebay for back-issues of ones I can remember (though just barely) being my favorites…alas, so far no luck....
