We passed a Delorean on the interstate on the way home from vacation in Florida last week.  I was on the phone with my real estate agent and immediately stopped in midsentence and said "Oh my God, we just passed a Delorean!"

Trippy.

I can remember in early college a Hummer being parked outside the movie theater where I worked and all of us sneaking out to the parking lot during the show to look it over.  This was in 92 or 93 when spotting a Hummer out running around was rare indeed.  I used to love them, then the H2 and now H3 killed the magic.
This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Chevy revealed the 2009 Camaro earlier this year.

This is the sexiest car Chevrolet will have released in over 30 years.  Add the 400HP LS2 V8 and you've got both show and go - this is a daily commuter I'd love to have a shot at.  Better start saving now!

It's pushed back to '09?

I thought GM was releasing it in 2007?

In the end, it doesn't matter - too impractical (and pricey) for me.

The last thing I read about it was in Car and Driver, at that time they claimed it was 2009.

I can totally understand the non-practicality of the Camaro.  I think that's why I was so bloody excited when they made the Charger as a 4-door.  Of course, purists were disgusted by that, and I probably would have been too if I didn't have to worry about putting children in the back seat.  2-doors just do NOT work for us anymore.  But Daddy still needs to have fun though, right?  ;)  So 4 doors and Hemi in a sexy body works for me.

As for the price, hopefully they'll be smart and price it competitively with the Mustang instead of being $10,000 more (like it was during it's dying days of the early '90s).

BTW, congrats on the news of your next child on the way.  8)

As a proud Camaro owner.. I love the "retro" look of the '09, but I think if I bought a muscle car again, I buy and original from the 60s. At least I'd be able to work on and modify it myself.

Verrry nice Jayson.

Original owner, eh?  Cool.  Ever take it to the quarter mile track?

I've always dreamed of a 68/69 Camaro or a 69/70 Cutlass.  Like you said, at least you can work on them yourself.

Nope, not yet. I'll have to wait 'til I get some new tires before hitting the track.  :P

When you take that ride out to the track, that would make for a fun MN group meeting.  You wouldn't have a problem letting each of us take it for a spin, would ya?   :P   ;)

That 09 Camaro looks pretty spiffy, and very nice ride there Jayson.  I had a black camaro in high school, and then traded it in to get a front wheel drive car when I went to college (for those Nebraska winters).  I sort of regret it from time to time now though, that was a fun car to drive around.

Sweet ride jedijaybird.  Even though I'm a Mustang guy myself, I've always liked the LT1'/LS1's, especially the '99-'02? SS Camaro.

They also turn out some really good 1/4 mile times for bone stock.  The best my feeble skills could manage in my '98 Cobra missing 2nd gear twice is a 13.62.

Now that is sweet too!  Is that the new GTO or Charger?  It's all about Domestic Muscle. ;D

The Camaro and Challenger are a real return to their heritage.  On the other hand, the GTO is a car that Pontiac has really come up short on.  Granted, the 400HP V8 will be a lot of fun in the small body, but it looks too much like the G6, their baseline vehicle.

Hey, I thought a car like that would be too impractical?  ;)
