My wife as I've said before grew up in a town with a brewery.  Every year I try the newest beer they come out with, this year they brought back one of my favorites for good

Shell's Caramel Bock

Its sort of like Amber Bock by Michelob but better I think.  Schell's also is the creator of 1919 Root Beer, some of the best Root Beer ever made

We have a little cultural thing happening in Winnipeg during the first two weeks of August.  It's called Folklorama and it entails a bunch of hockey rinks, curling rinks and other community club like places being transformed into pavilions representing various nationalities.  The typical attendee age is 65+ and it attracts bus tours of seniors from all over the US.  Displays of cultural stuff plus shows - songs, music, etc.  are the norm, as well as regional food and yup, beer.

That would be the other primary group of attendees - drunks that enjoy a variety of beer they cannot normally taste.  I used to work at the Scottish pavilion and we'd eat and drink for free prior to climbing scaffolding to take down spotlights and other stuff, liquored out of our tree, 55 feet in the air.   :o ::)

Nonetheless, I've convinced my wife this is a good thing for the kid to see and me to drink at.  Australia/New Zealand was tonight.  Nothing terribly spectacular - Fosters Cold, Victoria Bitter and Steinlager, which I have in the house anyway.  Tomorrow should be the Irish pavillion and then we'll see after that.

Mmmm.  Beer.

lately, i've been drinking amstel light. it's really not bad, for light beer. of cuorse, the fact that i drink about double what i would have normally drank if it were real beer, kinda defeats the purpose...

I've been hitting the Michlob Ultra piss for a while now.

The last time I had a Guinness, I puked. Be warned: Bratwurst, potato chips, cherry pie, a half a pack of cigarettes, and two different kinds of beer do not mix well.

I was saddened to hear that Coors is buying Molson.  Molson was like mother's milk while I was in college.  We even used to make beer runs into Canada to buy Molson Bradour at the Canadian duty free shop.  Now I just hate to think of how the people from Coors may literally water down one of my favorite beer brands.  Drat!

50,000 Cans of Moosehead Stolen, 2 Empties Found

They could unload those beers here. We've got a large Hispanic population locally and I'm sure they'd love a can of beer they can read. ;)
