I hated the articles. They used nudity to trying push politics on "readers" who only came to lust after airbrushed women that met Hefner's criteria for his "girl next door (that almost no one ever lived next door to)" look.  ;)

I like the Playboy bunny uniform. I don't know if that uniform was specifically his idea, but it's the number one contribution to the world he made. If you've never seen it, you can find on youtube, Carrie Fisher as a playboy bunny in a Laverne and Shirley episode.

Rest in peace Adam May, formerly of Galactic Hunter.

If you've been around the online Star Wars collecting community for any length of time, then you've probably read Adam's work.  From the Trade Federation site to Galactic Hunter and 42N-TLR, Adam was a great read.  And when I had the opportunity to meet Adam at events over the years he was a great guy:  knowledgeable, eager to share and willing to talk with just about anyone.  And damn, he certainly had a knack for working some Morrisey lyrics into an article.

Gone too soon.

RIP, Adam May. :-\

Adam was the one who dragged me into the Star Wars fansite business when he convinced me to help out on the old SWCU (Star Wars Collector Union) and TradeFederation.net sites in the early 2000s.  Never would have guessed the path that would set me on in this Star Wars collecting community.  All the Toy Fairs and events I've attended were thanks to ADAM encouraging me to dive in way back when.

He was a great dude, very opinionated, but always willing to help another collector.

That's sad to hear.  :( I recall a post on JTA where he said he'd been sick...guess he still was.

Yeah Adam was a really nice but also funny guy...  he was in the thick of it and I wound up getting to know him from some of the more grand disagreements of the past sites and forums.  He was a "big personality" to me because he was one of those guys who was outspoken but liked everyone and was always willing to talk shop, regardless of POV, and with a knack for making anyone laugh about it.

He made me laugh in a way that was genuinely funny too, nothing forced.  He was a good part of the hobby.  The kind of guy you couldn't help but enjoy seeing his name turn up.  I'd never talked with him till one of the old epic arguments took place and we both (and I'm sure many others) were involved and wound up having fun having conversations on the side about it.

Sad news. I didn't know him the way some of you did, but I definitely knew him as one of my favorite people to read about Star Wars and collecting. Loved reading his opinions, and the way he presented them. One thing that always stuck with me, which I believe was one of his columns, where he was talking about the BMF I believe. He was talking how he bought more than one, but that for every one he bought, they bought a second (or maybe it was multiples) to donate to Toys for Tots. I'm a little fuzzy on the exact details, but the level of generosity is what really struck me. One way that showed what a great person he was.

RIP, Tom Petty.

So many A-list musicians have died in 2017 that I can't even remember the full list anymore...  :-\

Just when you thought this day could not possibly get worse, it does.  And in the worst way.

See you on the other side, Tom.

Cannot get a confirmed death. Some say he was braindead and pulled off life support, other articles "cannot confirm". Media, don't do me like that.
