RIP. I didn't realize he was that old.

Moment of Silence for Count Dooku and Saruman.   He lived a full and amazing life and has hundreds of acting credits but he'll always be these two characters for me.

I'm sad to see Lee go. He and Crushing left us with an amazing collection of movies to enjoy. I will miss him.

One of the best parts of the prequels. I really should check out some of his earlier work.

I took a film class in college, and one day we watched a documentary with Christopher Lee in it. Each time they show him, he's smoking from either a cigar or a pipe and just looks badass. It was pretty awesome.

When I was a kid I loved all things James Bond, so I'd have to add Scaramanga, the Man with the Golden Gun, to the list to complete my Christopher Lee character-trinity.

His role as Lord Summerisle in "The Wicker Man" was quite good, too.

The Hammer films alone are a great reason to appreciate Christopher Lee.  But before he became Dracula onscreen he had quite an impressive war record with the RAF during WWII.  And more recently he had been involved in some metal albums, contributing vocals to those records.  To say that he lived a full life is something of an understatement.

Every Star Wars fan must see the Hammer movies. Peter Crushing and Christopher Lee were always paired together. They typically switched off on the monster role. You can see David Prowse in a lot of those movies too. Imagine if Star Wars was a Hammer movie. There would be a lot more blood and breasts.

Lee and Cushing basically shaped my childhood and my love of horror films.  Some of the only DVD's I keep are Hammer Horror to watch at Halloween, and this day stings just like it did when Cushing died.

Above their films though, both guys were incredible stage actors.

I can't imagine either character from Star Wars being played by someone else.

RIP Sir Christopher Lee. I remember him from my favorite show as Captain Zandor in Space 1999. Rest well.

In another note...

I'm old enough to more remember Lee from the Hammer movies though he was fantastic as Dooku (as could be, given the circumstances) and Saruman.  Sad to see him go but that's how you live a full life.  Well done Christopher, well done.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

Ornette Coleman

Horrible day to be a celebrity

Damn.

Regarding Christopher Lee, reports I read indicated that he actually died on Sunday.  News of his passing wasn't publicized until yesterday since he has a large family and it took some time for them to be notified.
