Where are you, when you're here?
« on: December 19, 2004, 11:45 PM »
I usually browse JD from my *cough* office *cough*... Although I've got the Powerbook as well and check from the road when I'm travelling or working off-site.

Here are a few snaps of my attic office I took for a website:

So here's the question: Where are you, when you're here? And, what does it look like?

How many times have I told you to stay out of my office?

Took me a week to get to the right side just so I could click reply.  Now I'm hungry :-\

Daytime it's at work (during the week, duh).  My schedule there is really rather variable, so I never know when I'll be in meetings, on the road/in fields or actually around.

Nighttime it's almost invariably from home/home office/star wars room/sanctuary.  I can pop some pics if someone wants to host them.  Could even do my office at work.

I finally discovered the return key. Is that better?  >:( What resolution do you boys have your monitors set at? 640x480?  Seriously, sorry about the widness. I wasn't getting that at all at 1680x1050. :-*

C'mon. No one has pictures?

I'm usually at a work, where photography is strictly prohibited.  :(  Just imagine something drab, and my coffee mug with the caption: Illegitimis non carborundum.

I don't think I should subject anyone with photos of my cave at home.

I have that same Mac monitor here at work where I view this forum. I used to browse at my home office, but I needed a more high paying job. So, now I really have to work for a living.

Cool! Which one? The 21" Cinema Display, or the 17" B&W Studio Display?

99% of the time when I'm here posting at JD, I'm at the office working overnight. Nothing special, your typical office with cubicle corrals. The coolest thing about my desk would be my nice 17" flat panel monitor. Exciting eh?

the rest of the time I'm at home when I'm online, but that's very rare nowadays. next time i get a chance, i'll post a pic of my desk at home, although its rather bare right now.

When I'm posting, I'm at home.  Just using my 3 year old Dell that needs to be replaced this year (Doom 3 runs way too slow  ;D).  My desk is far from the stylish ones that are produced these days, but I absolutely love it.  It's a partner desk that is about 50 years old - it's just about indestructible.  Solid wood - they don't make 'em this way anymore!

I'd love to be posting while I was at work, but my bastard employers won't give us lowly staff pharmacists internet access, just the managers.  Bah!

What is your new job, and what was your old job?

The 21" Cinema display. I've always done the same thing--graphics and web design--but I don't freelance as much anymore. I got a regular 9 to 6 job because I needed the benefits in my old age. The pay is substantially more, too.

This is a reasonable facsimile of where I usually post from.

Nice. Who are the people in the picture above your bookcase? I'm guessing they aren't related to you, they don't resemble you much. Is it an Anakin/Amidala poster?
