Anakin is Vader Before the Suit?!?

We've gotten some pretty good confirmation that Anakin Skywalker will be Called Lord Vader before the fateful duel on Mustafar

This is from a release list of Attacktix figures and can be taken for what its worth, my source on this passed along this bit of info:

Anakin Skywalker figure #2 is named “Darth Vader”

So I'm guessing what he saw was some pictures of the figures...interesting.  Might we see a Sith Naming Ceremony?

I'd be pretty surprised if that were true.  I always assumed the name change would happen when Ani hits the black suit.  Might just be a mix up on the names with that early info on the Attacktix.

Or maybe you're right.  Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Perhaps its a way to tell the Anakin figures apart, like one is from THE Duel, being technically evil,  and the other is a generic Anakin from earlier in the film.

According to spoilers, this is when Palpatine finally spills the beans about himself being a Sith. Then he shows off his awesome abilities by killing Mace. Therefore, Anakin would become Vader after this scene, but before the suit (which was only intended to keep him alive, not to make him a Sith.)

Think about it from this standpoint...

When we meet Obi-Wan on Tatooine in ANH, he talks about Darth Vader.    This is all stuff we know from the movies already.  This exchange tells you that Obi-Wan knows that Anakin became the Sith Lord called Darth Vader:

LUKE: How did my father die?

BEN: A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he
turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi
Knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now the Jedi are all
but extinct. Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force.


So at some point prior to the duel, Anakin must take on the name of Darth Vader.  It's easy to just deduce that since the duel was the last time Obi-Wan had encountered him before their duel on the Death Star.

Speculation again..but the Episode III Saber here for Vader says Color Change

Not sure how it will work but I wonder if Anakin/Vader's  saber will change color during the duel?
