I wonder if I can mail you a six pack of Guiness?

Does that come with your tongue or without?   :P

To Matt and everyone else going to ComicCon, in light of today's news items:

I'm so sorry. :'( >:(

On the bright side, I'm feeling a little less bad about not being able to go and missing seeing this travesty unfold in person. ::)

Hey Matt, in addition to the Holo Leia, can you try and see if you can get me the free Galactic Hero figure at the Hasbro booth.  :)

Now that I think about it, it's likely just going to be a random Galactic Hero figure.  Just like what they did at Celebration III when they gave out free random Attacktix figures.

Ah ****, what next. GH is reporting that Code 3 will be taking pre-orders for their upcoming Revenge of the Jedi 3D Poster for a great price of $24.95 at Comic Con.

Ya better add that to me list Matt, remember, it's a pre-order.

No need to add me to the list on this one Matt, I got a couple pre-ordered.  ;)

Except last year it was a bagged scout trooper.  Identical to the regular release except for the baggie.  So maybe, maybe not.

Hey everyone!  We're still shooting for Hooters tomorrow night, after the convention.  Question is, how late does the main convention hall stay open?  I was originally thinking that we'd just head over to Hooters after Sansweet's Star Wars Spectacular presentation, but that's a little earlier than I remembered now.  Since I'm only there for one day, if there's more time to duck back into the convention hall after that show, I'll probably want to for a little bit.  Plus, I think Jay and Ricardo may be running late due to goofing around at some Master Replicas party, from what I've heard...  ::)

So I'd say let's all meet at Hooters (GH'ers too), whenever the convention officially closes for the day, if not a little bit earlier...  Most of us have eachother's cell phone #s already, so I'm sure we can coordinate things a little on the spot if needbe.

SCHEDULE UPDATE:

OK, I finally got my LAZY freakin' ass around to checking the actual SDCC schedule.  SW Spectacular lets out at 6:15pm, but the Convention Hall doesn't actually close 'til 7pm, so I'll be heading back in there 'til they kick my ass out the door.  Considering I may actually be standing in some exclusive line still at closing, I'd be inclined to say let's shoot for 7:30-8pm at Hooters.  That way I can unload some **** to the car/hotel/whatever.  Plus, Jay, Ricardo, and Jamie won't be able to get there 'til about 9:45pm, unfortunately.

How's that work for everyone/anyone?  I'll shoot for the earlier side (7:30) if possible, as can others of course, but I could be running as late as 8pm.  So I'm claiming a half hour window at least...  ;)

I don't know if this would be the proper thread for this, but I have a photo request.  Jared, if you could be so kind to try this, could you see if you can get a photo of the Pilot Obi-Wan (#56) with his cloak off, so we can see how articulated he is/isn't?  If they won't take it out for you to look at or show it to you after the Bly debacle, could you see if the carded figure has a photo of him sans cloak on the back and photograph that?

I'm eagerly awaiting the cluster**** that the Q&A is sure to be this evening.  Are the JD staff going to get another exclusive sitdown with the SW team like last year, or is Matt's photo posted behind the Hasbro booth with "DO NOT TALK TO THIS MAN" written below it like those "Do not accept checks from" things in convenience stores? :)

Hasbro just completed their Q&A session, and we've got the lowdown on the plans for the future.  Check it out here!

Michael, there wasn't really a way to photograph the Obi without his cloak, and nearly impossible to see the back of the card in the display. Sorry.  :-\

Surprisingly, the Q&A went well. They had diffused a lot of the larger landmines in the ppt up front, most notably Unleashed. This time I thought they were much more upfront about their plans, handled the collector aspect with a lot more tact, and had enough good product to outweigh the rehashes they're putting out there. My frustration about the #6 Shocktrooper was helped out when seeing the SA 501st Clone, for example.

It wasn't all happy happy type stuff, but we certainly didn't leave with the impression that they were so locked into their marketing line that they wouldn't budge on having an open forum and feedback on their product. In fact, they were all very approachable and talkative. We're going to have a rough year to get through with all these exclusives but I'm much more optimistic about next year.

The Saga2 packaging looks great, and I'm really, really pleased that they've gone back to the location-themed release pattern again.

Dale - Someone from TN wanted me to grab this for them too, and I searched all over for the ACME booth today, only to finally find it and them not have a clue about this thing. I'll give it another shot tomorrow, but they have the most piss poor booth I've ever seen!
