I was wondering if prior to the season we should institute a policy that prevents someone from dumping their players? cough*famine*cough  I'm not going to say anything about the basketball pool directly, but in general I don't pay enough attention or try to swing trades, I just stick with the guys I have.  But I don't like the possibility of someone deciding in August they can't win and then basically give away their players.  Can we arrange for a policy of that nature for this pool ahead of time?  Doing it after the season has begun seems more like retribution so perhaps it's best to lay something out at the beginning?

I'm only raising it as a suggestion, if everyone feels it's too much or generally unneccessary I'll happily abide by that.

We could just make every trade require a majority of yay votes from all 8 of us couldn't we?  Then if something was really, really lopsided the only people who would vote for it would be the two involved in said lopsided trade.

By the way, what's wrong with Melvin Mora?  He probably shouldn't have been available at the end of the 10th round.

Is there something I don't know about him that you guys all do?

???

No idea about Mora.  I think I took my 3B too high frankly.  Beltre had a great year last year, but it was a contract year ::)  As soon as I picked him I started wondering if that would bite me on the ass.  New team too.

I think w/ Mora, either people here overlooked him or are cautious because that was the only big year he's ever had.  Dressel and I were talking about that yesterday I believe.

As for the trade, all the Yahoo public leagues give you the option to veto a trade and a majority vote will prevent it.  I'm guessing we'd have to have at least 4 or 5 of us vote to veto in order to prevent it.

So I'm going to go ahead and consider Mora as a good value pick in the 10th round as a potential utility batter.

Hopefully it pays off...

Don't worry Brent, I plan on winning this leauge. I don't think I'll be parting with anyone spectacular. I mean, unless some one makes me an offer I can't refuse. Guess who's not holding up the leauge today?
