They also have another Limited Edition without the cape with a run of 2500, which is now available.

Not anymore, this puppy is now sold out!  :o

Clicky for bigger pic courtesy Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow is releasing the 5th piece in their 1/4 scale Star Wars line: Obi-Wan Kenobi!

Based on his pose in the above picture, it appears he will be a perfect match with the Darth Vader statue for their final duel in A New Hope.

Head on over to Sideshow Collectibles to sign up for their e-mail to be notified when Obi-Wan is available for preorder.

I must have this!  I've got Vader pre-ordered, so to combine the two will be an absolutely amazing display!

Well, Grievous is supposed to be early 2006, so I'd expect we won't be seeing Obi-Wan until at least June, 2006.

My wifey knows about the Vader preorder, but, uh, not Grievous yet.  And now Obi-Wan?  Better start preparing her...   :-[

So, it starts. I got a FedEx ship alert this evening with a delivery estimate of 7/7 (tomorrow). Luke's on his way.

Anyone else get a ship notice?

Mine arrived today! Yay!  :)

So, I'm pleased. Very, very pleased. I'd heard some comments about other Sideshow lines where the final product didn't quite live up to the prototype in terms of paint app quality or clothing tailoring, but the Luke really lives up to what they showed last year at Comic-Con and at C3.

I even like the box. It has a clear slipcover that slides over the regular color printed box. So when you slide it on, it sort of creates a window frame around the box images, and has the Star Wars logo printed on the slipcover. It's really classy. They even put protective wrap on the outside of the slipcover so it won't get scratched.

I'm sort of worried now. I like it enough that I'm probably going to be addicted to the line. I've never really collected any higher-end items, and this looks like a 3-4 statue per year deal we're heading into.

I really, really can't wait to see a Boba Fett in the line.

It must just be me, but I think the likeness is way off. He is creepy looking.

That's a fair statement. My biggest concern when they first showed the figure were the buck-teeth, which they addressed. I think it's better now than it was, but the Mark Hamill likeness still seems elusive, though Sideshow here has done a better job than most have in the past, including the GG sculpts, which I'm not a fan of.

Can you take some pix near other statues, or figures? Hows about a review? :-*

Obi-Wan is now up for preorder!  The Sideshow Exclusive version includes the training remote - very cool accessory.

The sculpting of Sir Alec Guinness is absolutely incredible - they hit the ball out of the park on this one.   8)

I put my order in immediately.  Gonna look sweet battling Darth Vader.   :D

That headsculpt looks absolutely nothing like Ewan McGregor.  ;)

If anyone out there has preordered the Han Solo "Ceremony" version and has changed their mind on the preorder, I'd like to discuss making arrangements to buy your statue. I never saw this version was going to be available and would prefer it over the standard release.

I saw them. "I want more!" ;)

Working on some better images. Should be up by Monday.  :)
