Yeah

Lots of mates posting on facebook about ark building
But I tell ya after seeing the water flow through some of these towns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7HLvwPmles
Thats through the main street of a town, no one saw it coming and unfortunately its started claiming lives
Our main dam is at 170% capacity with predictions it will hit 200% tonight
It was built after the 1974 floods to help protect the area, thank god it was built other wise this would have been a million times worse
Its currently got all 5 gates open because it has too and the problem there is its going into the main river and thats going to cause more problems downstream.
I cant get to work at the moment and I aint worried about that but there are some heartbreaking images coming out
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

Holy crap  :o  Hope all the folks around you are ok.  I've been poking around looking at news and watching video and stuff and that's just plain scary stuff.

Picture is of Ipswich, just outside Brisbane I think (Hemish will most assuredly correct my geographical error if so).  Saw some video of Toowoomba as well.   :'(

That would be so heartbreaking to lose everything like that.

Been watching the vids on UTube. Words cannot describe this disaster, my heart goes out to all.

This story hit's hard too... Boy told rescuers 'save my brother' before he was swept away

Me and my family are ok, my sister in law lives out near Gatton one of the suburbs that were hit pretty hard, thankfully they are ok they were just locked in.
Amazing to see roads I would go to work in completely under water.
I think we are up to 15 dead and 60 odd missing with a bunch that they are very worried about, one of the towns that got hammered first after Toowoomba there are about 30 odd cars smashed up at a bridge, emergency personal havent been able to get to the site yet and they are worried they will essentially be coming up on a mass grave.
I will say this, the state governments response has been fantastic, the state premier has been on all media networks and she is hurting too you can see it in her face but she is fighting on and keeping everyone updated with what is happening not what is going to happen.
Its going to take a long time to clean up and rebuild, hopefully there wont be many more people lost.

Dale that story was heartbreaking, apparently the boy that died was terrified of the water too, he was a little hero telling the man to take his younger brother first.
When he got swept off the car, his mother went in after him and thats how they were lost.

Looks like Brazil has been hit harder than Australia by flooding.

What I did today for about 4 hours...

ended up being a bit too long (19 feet)  and a touch to short (about 5.5 feet)

I'm almost afraid to ask where the yellow snow came from.
This is the way.

I have spoken.

That's sweet!

In local news, more snow (again). Any more and a life-sized AT-AT could be erected.

We got around 5 inches of snow on Monday followed by some sleet and freezing rain Monday night.  It managed to close the schools just north of Charlotte all week >:(.  They had originally scheduled Saturday as a 1/2 to be a make-up day - but that was cancelled too because apparently there were still a few areas that had pockets of ice on the roads.  I say get the trucks back out and clear those few patches out.  The majority of the roads in the county were all clear by Wednesday.  With the MLK holiday today the kids have been home for 10 days straight  :o.
