Just got woken up by an enormous thunderstorm.  Hail, heavy horizontal rain, lots of thunder - one of the biggest I've seen since moving out here.

It was sweltering today, at least 85. After coming in from the outside, I was sweating like one of Dick Cheney's hunting buddies.

Remember Indy last year?  We're replaying that scenario right now.  After four weeks of temps in the 55-75F range, tonight it's dropping to 28 F with snow.  Not a huge surprise, but sure not welcome either. :-\

We had some freakish weather yesterday -- seemed to come out of nowhere.  One minute it was in the upper 60's, there were beautiful blue skies and a nice breeze, then the next minute warning sirens were going off.  Turned on the tv and saw we were under a Tornado Warning.  One had been spotted a few miles from the house.  Fortunately it ended up being a small one and no one was hurt.  The storm dumped up to 4 inches of golfball size hail in some spots.  Then it was gorgeous again.  About an hour later another round of hail and thunderstorms with rotations came through again.  The rest of the day it would completely clear up, them out of nowhere a black cloud would roll in and there would be horrible thunder and lightening for a few minutes and then it would go away.

It's been raining since last ******* Tuesday and will continue to rain off and on until this ******* Thursday.   Absolutely lovely weather (if you prefer to use a canoe instead of a car).

Nice isnt it?  Mike are you in a low level area?  I am so glad I got our basement sealed a few years back.  I cant even imagine how much damage would be to our current finished basement.  My backyard is about 4-6 inches of standing water at the moment.  The ground is so saturated that there is no where for it to go.  Plus it does not help that I have a natural spring in my backyard.

Luckily, no.  I live on a hill, so no flooding.  The unfinished part of my basement leaks due to insufficient waterproofing and other than a soaked back yard, it's hasn't been that bad.

A bunch of my co-workers who live on the North Shore are bailing out their basements today, though.

There's some weird **** going on here - I look up and see a big round yellow thing floating in the sky along with some puffy white stuff against a blue backdrop.  Funky.
