Absolutely digging the weather here this summer. Highs have been upper 70s to low 80s, with lows in the upper 50s. Yeah, a couple of 90s are peppered in, but for the most part extremely mild and enjoyable. Every time I think about moving elsewhere I remind myself about the weather here.

Rob are you still in Dallas? Freaky, since I'm in Austin and we haven't seen any kind of rain since late May when there was a tornado outbreak. 105+ degree weather everyday... :(

Yep, I leave in about 3 weeks.  We haven't had much rain either, this thing came out of no where and was done in 10 minutes.  It was crazy.  Here's a crappy cell-phone photo of the roof of my car from this morning:

Will insurance cover it?

Yep.  My deductible is $200 and I'm going to ask the body shop to go ahead and save me that (on a $6100 repair they should be able to).

They're going to replace the roof, hood, and windshield.  Then they'll do PDR on the passenger side, and do conventional body work on both quarter panels and both doors on the driver's side.  Conventional repair for the hatchback too.

As far as I can tell the only two panels that aren't getting repairs are the bumpers, which are plastic.

So... yeah, thank goodness for insurance.  I've got rental car coverage too.  So as long as they can get it fixed before the move, everything should be okay.

Gotcha, just thinking that $6,100 is a lot for repairs and how that compares to the residual value in the car, but I'm sure your insurance company thought about that too.

Yeah, it was a pretty expensive car and is in really great condition (this round of damage aside)... the miles are still pretty low for an '04 and it's getting close to being paid off.  I'm hoping it'll be my car for 3 or 4 more years and then I can trade it in for a hybrid or electric (if the technology goes that far that quickly).

Maybe they'll introduce wind powered cars for the Chicago market.

It's been hot in the Inland Empire here in So Cal.  I wish it were cooler, but what am I thinking, it's summer time.

Summer finally arrived, yesterday it hit 28.7 °C & today should go to 28°C & tomorrow 27°. We are staying in the mid 20's for the week thus far with late day or evening thunder boomers.

Not in the central prairies my friend.  I feel your pain, we were 48 degrees that same morning.  Whee!
