I have a few more little details to work on before I actually start planning to go to C3.  I'm trying to get a job at LA city in the next few months so hopefully they will allow me a week off (without pay) to attend.  My brother-in-law also may go with me after going to Comic COn with my Cousin so that is another thing I have to work on to see if he is going or not.

Might be cool to have a JD hangout night.  There's a Hooters a couple of blocks from the convention center.  There's also a Hard Rock Cafe.

Kind of on the fence:  I want to go.  My wife said go ahead.  The timing just might not be quite right.  And I'll be traveling quite a bit in the coming year, so the boss might change her mind by then too.  Finances seem good, but I'll definitely need a roommate and probably a room less than $150 US a night :o  $0.75 dollars don't help, but there's not likely to be a C4 is there?

It's pretty much a guarantee I'd fly.  Flying to Minneapolis is probably not much different in cost than flying to Indy.  Dog sled is a good 8 hours to Minne and then longer to Indy, so not real cool.  I could care less about cabbing, so don't likely need to rent a car in Indy.

Lots of airmiles by then:
October: Prince Edward Island
December: Maui
February: Spain
March: West Lafayette
April: Indianapolis?

As far as I know Bob & I are flying & sharing a room. Still have to hook up with the old fart & the game plan going when he's not working 12 hr's plus a day! He needs a vacation & I haven't been to the US since 86.

 :o

I spend probably close to a month a year in the US, at least it seems that way.  Vacation with family, work related trips.  Sadly, my timing sucks for toys and often I'm in locations that have no larger stores.  North Dakota, northern Minnesota and Montana aren't really thriving with Targets and waht not.

Brent's not on the fence anymore.  Hasn't been for a couple months now.  Pay attention, dammit!   >:(

Here's the deal, Brent's gonna fly down to MN, where he's going to hook up with you (Scott), Jim, and Jeff, and you four clowns are gonna go rent a car and drive your butts down to Indy.  Understand?  Cool.  Glad to be of service.  Just watch out for Brent's bad gas though...

Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood JD Travel Agent

Celebration 3 questions...
« Reply #188 on: August 1, 2004, 07:22 PM »
I'm making my plans so I can be there at 3:00 on Saturday for Kevvy Vs. Morgbug, and I need some details from you vets who know these things...

First, were coming by train...So let that be known...

Now, do you have any suggestions for where to stay while there, and what are the prices like in Indiana?

Are they jacked due to the convention?

Let me know, thanks!

Dragging my grandma along to C3, so she can see why I like Star Wars so much.

My aunt took her to a Trekkie con, so she comes to C3. It's only fair.

I'll probably drive there, though I still have to get tickets for the con and a hotel room for the four days.

If there are any fans in Iowa want to go, I've got a Hyundai with three open seats. You'll pay for 1/4 or whatever depending on how many people go.

Or if we get enough, we could charter a bus.

Dig it...search Orbitz...the Holiday Inn 1.9 miles from the Con center is only 67.99 a night.

That's how much I paid for my room.
