RE #1 - Crisis on Abridon Special Edition
« on: May 4, 2005, 11:15 AM »
Well here is the Special Edition of this story.  No major changes - but some enhanced effects.  Let me know what you think... this is the first in the Rykrof Enloe series, and takes place right before the Battle of Naboo.

CRISIS ON ABRIDON

It is a dark time for the Republic.  Terrorist attacks throughout Coruscant have caused the deaths of thousands.  The GALACTIC SENATE has chosen to handle the matter internally rather than take advice from the JEDI COUNCIL.

Peacekeeper Rykrof Enloe, a native from the planet Naboo, has been hand selected by the Senate to lead the Republic Guard in an investigation of the Badoo Corba, a radical group believed to be linked to the attacks.  The organization has also been blamed for the mysterious loss of communications with the small planet of Abridon.

Little does the Senate know the scope of the task at hand, as the Badoo Corba organization has secretly been contacted by the powerful TRADE FEDERATION, who has an agenda all its own…

Ok, that's the original one redone slightly.  Kinda fun to look back at it because it was the first one I did, and obviously I had no idea what I was doing on it.

Thoughts?  Was it worth redoing the effects on it and adding in a few minor details?

Nice. I like the new effects. I never noticed the black astro-droid before, is he new or was he there before?

I like the story a lot, and it is cool to see how much these have improved since they first debuted. I always liked the way it acts like a prequel to TPM, it is a good lead in, and the inclusion of the Techno Union is cool. It is cool to see why they held off and the Clone Wars didn't start 10 years earlier.

I'm looking forward to the next SEs! :)

Thanks SLC.  I will definitely start up on the next one once I get my computer fixed... God knows when that will be though.

I liked putting Wat Tambor in there... I thought it added some continuity and showed that the Trade Federation really was alone when Sidious used them in the blockade, and that there are other organizations out there that will someday join in the Confederacy.

The black droid was one of the new additions.  I thought I needed to add something else to the new rubble and it made it look more like the planet had been attacked.

Nice job, I had never seen this one before (I joined in the fan club around #6 or 7). Looks great, and really sets up for the later stories. :)

While I had my doubts about the Special Editions Idea.....it seems better to me. No continuity errors or anything I didn't think added to the atmosphere of the story...

Except that purplish smoke on Coruscant. ;)

I added in the purplish color in the bar just to make some sort of bar like atmosphere lighting.  But the other shots with the city background look pretty weak I guess.  I was trying to get rid of the glare.  :-\

I love those effects! Great job. Although I do like the original better for no real reason.

Thanks... I kinda like the old versions too - but I just had to make them a bit better visually.  There were a couple of blaster shots that I did that were just horrible before.  Not that they are great now, but better I think.  I'm much happier and done tinkering with this one.

This was really nicely done...but now I can't seem to find the original on here to compare it to. Oh, well, over to the Custom Alliance to check it out...God knows THAT hasn't been updated in a while...  ;D

I've started redoing the second one tonight - I am being forced to retake a few shots on it.

Is it just my computer or are there no pictures?
Man, I was going to start up on your photonovels tonight! :'(
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

I can't see them either... sorry, I don't know what happened.  I just asked Famine, who is hosting them.
