SA Arc Commander from CW toon
« on: May 15, 2005, 01:03 PM »
Hi there,

ThePerennial invited me over here to check out the forum and humbly submit this custom. I recognize a few names from GH, too. Here we go...

I put this one off for so long that certain steps started erasing themselves. New figures like the EE SA Clones and the EIII Clone Commander make this a fairly quick custom for impatient folks like me:

Thanks for looking!

Very nice indeed. I love the Red ARC Captain, always thought he was the best part of the first cartoon series. (along wit durge)

Thanks for sharing  ;)

Look out behind you!

Anyway, I love what you did with that trooper. What Blasters are those?

Thanks for the kind words.  8) The blasters are from the EU Kyle Katarn figure.

I know what you mean. SA ARC's were a lot harder to make just six months ago.  I made one of these WAY back them, but am planning a few more what with the EE clones and all.

Yours is VERY well done. Love all the posed shots. This figure is another no brainer for Hasbro. They could have issued it using already existing parts and sold a ton. But no, we needed Jedi Kick Obi-Wan's and Back-flipping Palpatines...

I think that's probably the best ARC Trooper custom I've seen.  Flawless execution - doesn't even look like a custom.  Looks like a 3-3/4" Marmit figure.   :o

Glad to see you here, Redgek!

I simply love this custom. Simple in execution, but the simplest ones are always the best! I love how it looks and I plan on making one when I can find an ARC trooper for the pauldron and an ROTS clone trooper captain.

Oh, and up until recently, we never knew what big red's name was in his big EU world. According to "Omega squad: targets", a short story published in star wars insider written by Karen Traviss, his name is Ordo; named after the mandalorian from KOTOR, Canderous Ordo.

Again, lots of praise on that figure Redgek, very nice.  The subtle arm details are nice given how the original ARC's looked from teh CW line with the big forearm gauntlets.  I'm not sure they were bad, but I think they could've been improved over big silver things.

I like the Katarn Bryar pistols but they seem a bit big...  The Bryar's actually a sawed off rifle, more than a military gun, but the Bryar's seem to match up to the cartoon (while still having a realistic sculpt figure) very well...  They don't fit in the holsters though, huh?  That's a bummer.  I think I'd probably have gone with the COmmander pistols just to utilize the holster I guess.

Anyway, great figure...  I wish Hasbro would get on doing this figure up like this, actually.  E2 Clones are just too rough to come by yet for me to wanna try this.

Kick ass!

The paint ops look flawless.  Gotta love the pic with the droid begging for his "life."

This one's my favourite shot. I love this one, looks like a production still if it were in a movie.

Thank you all for looking and for being cool to a newbie. ;D I really like this character, so it means a lot that you guys dig the custom. I also appreciate that you resisted the urge to remind me that the top of his antenna is supposed to be white.  ;)

I'm sure that one of you more talented fellows can and will do a better job when you get around to it. I'd like to see someone do working holsters for bigger pistols so I can rip off their idea.

I had no idea that Kyle's pistol had a name and backstory. I just thought it matched up closer than any other existing SW guns. Oh, and "Ordo?" Yikes! Didn't the Mandalorian guy have a middle name they could've used?  ;)

Don't feel too bad...the Mandalorian's first name was Canderous.  ;D
