Crap.  I can't do that, my wife would chop my nuts off.  I was willing to go up to $1,000 - $1,500 for both of them (combined), but at $3,000+ there's just no way I can do that and stay married.  That sucks.

Jared, please call me when you get yours so I can come over and play...  :P

I've met his wife. She'll do it!

Seriously though, this is such a sweet set. If I can pull in some extra cash, I'll get it, but I'll have to work pretty hard and have some amazing luck.

I've litereally owned cars that cost a fraction of that...  Impossible for me to justify, no matter how badly I want it.

Check out the METAL figures that are designed for these dioramas - Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO and 4 Stormtroopers!  The question is, where is Luke, Leia and Chewie?

Hmmm...

The prices on these at the Attackus site are just crazy!

Falcon and Hallway Playset = 2400 Euros = $2885 US   :o

And the individual figures?

11 cm = 4.33 inches  or just a bit larger than Hasbro's figures.

70 Euros = $85 each  :o

Forget it.  This line is for the Steve Sawsweets of the Collecting word, the people who must have everything.

For $85, I'd rather have a GG Mini-Bust and a complete wave of Bust-Ups instead of these 4" metal figures.   ::)

That Falcon is still amazing though...   :(

Man, they must be making a killing on the figures (and playsets for that matter).  The mold costs must be outrageous because of the prices they are charging.

I think you mean the people who can afford everything, Jeff.

I certainly MUST have everything, but I also must stay married, and hence can not "afford" these since I can't afford to risk losing my wife over 'em.  ;)

And the individual figures?

70 Euros = $85 each  :o

They actually run from 69 Euros (R2) up to 88 Euros (Vader), so you're talking a good $100 plus for Vader and Obi-Wan there...  I was wondering what the figures would cost, but holy ****, that's mind boggling!  I wonder how many people are just going to get the dioramas, and not sweat the  figures, since they're going to stick the cheapo 4" Hasbro figures in there instead...?  I'd love to see the percentage on that, since that's what I was originally contemplating doing myself (if these were under $1,500 or so).

I've gotta say that I think this C-3PO, with it's terrible looking "silver" right calf, wouldn't be too high on my list even if I was collecting this line:

At that price point, they should really be able to do the far more subtle gold/silver blend on 3PO's leg, as seen in the movies...

No news of stateside outlets for these, still? I'm getting worried.

Uh-oh...

The Star Wars statues/dioramas thread at the Attakus site was locked on November 10th, with this post by Attakus:

Indeed.  I wonder if there's a problem between Attakus and Lucasfilm (or whichever licensing body is involved)?

It's ignorant of me, but I almost wish that was the case...   ;D  Knowing those dioramas exist out there and not having one will forever kill me.  It's like knowing the MR AT-AT exists and not owning it.

If it got canned that'd be funny sort of...  At the same time I'd feel bad for the people who were buying one and were really looking forward to doing so.

I wonder how much this will be.  It just looks awesome.  A lot different from the one I had as a kid.

I've heard that StarWarsShop may be getting in a few of them to sell, you might want to keep an eye out to see if they can do better than the European prices (although the shipping might kill you).   :-\

Well, the metal figures are now available for pre-order from SWShop.com:

Metal Figures at SWShop

Wow!  Like we were mentioning earlier in this thread, these things are friggin' expensive!   :o

Anywhere from $72 to $91 each plus shipping.  I wasn't planning on picking them up anyway, so now that the price has been confirmed I can safely say that there is NO way I can afford to dive into this line.

The Falcon Pieces are not up on the site yet, but I'm hearing they should be up soon... should be interesting to see if they hit SWShop at the rumored $2800 price tag.

Steve S. can shove these up his hoarding arse.
